Installation Manual and General Information
Our installation video shows how to install the 2016-19 Lexus RX Apple CarPlay Conversion Kit Premium on a Lexus RX with the knob interface. If your Lexus RX has a mouse interface, you need to follow a few additional steps shown in this supplement.
THESE EXTRA STEPS WILL ADD ABOUT 15-25 MINUTES TO THE INSTALLATION PROCESS.
On the knob version (shown in video), you will have three wiring “T's” that connect behind the A/C control unit in your Lexus RX. For your mouse version, you will only have two “T's” that connect behind the A/C control unit. You will be left with one additional “T” that must connect under your mouse assembly.
You do not need to fully remove the center console. You will simply pop loose some panels to create room to thread the third “T” to the mouse assembly.
INSTALLATION:

Firmly grip the boot around the shift knob and press it down to separate it from the shift knob. You can now turn the shift knob counter clockwise and thread it off the gear shift stalk.

Open the armrest lid. Firmly grab the mouse assembly by the “metal” sides below the leather portion. Rock the mouse assembly side to side with upward pressure and it will come loose. Disconnect it and set it to the side.
Under where the mouse assembly used to sit, use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the two highlighted screws.
Now starting from the front of the center console, pop loose the plastic around the cigarette lighter and the main piece of trim around the cup holders. This will give you room to thread the wire all the way to the mouse assembly. Plug one end of the “T” into the mouse and the other end of the “T” into the factory vehicle harness.
Repeat the above steps in the opposite order to return your center console to its factory condition.
