Product Overview
The Philips Dynalite DUS360CS-D is a multifunction sensor designed for lighting control systems.
Dimensions:
- Height: 46 mm (1.82 in)
- Diameter: 105 mm (4.13 in)
Installation Steps
Step 1A: PIR Sensor Placement
This step involves positioning the PIR sensor. The diagram shows the sensor with its dimensions.
Diagram shows the sensor with dimensions 46 mm (1.82 in) height and 105 mm (4.13 in) diameter.
Step 1B: PIR Detection Angle
The Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor has a detection angle of 120°.
Diagram illustrates the 120° detection angle of the PIR sensor.
Step 2: PIR Detection Coverage and Environment
The PIR sensor provides coverage up to 5.5 meters (18 ft) with a minimum detection range of 2 meters (6.5 ft).
Recommended mounting height is between 2.1 to 4.0 meters (6.9 to 13.1 ft).
The sensor operates within environmental limits:
- Temperature: 0° C to 45° C (32° F to 113° F)
- Humidity: Less than 90%
- Note: For a 7.0 meter (23 ft) detection range, the ambient temperature should be ≤ 25° C (77° F).
Diagram shows the PIR detection pattern, coverage range, recommended mounting height, and environmental operating conditions.
Step 3: Protective Earth (PE) Connection
Ensure proper grounding. The diagram illustrates placement relative to a floor lamp and desk, with an 80° field of view indicated.
Diagram shows the sensor's position and an 80° detection angle, implying its placement in a room.
Step 4: Infrared (IR) Detection
The sensor also includes Infrared (IR) detection with a 120° angle. This is typically used for remote control signals.
Diagram illustrates a person using a remote control, indicating the IR detection range.
Step 5: Wiring and Electrical Specifications
DALI Wiring:
- Wire Gauge: Less than 1 mm² (16+ AWG)
- Torque: 0.4 Nm (3.5 Lb-in)
- DALI Bus Voltage (ELV): 9.5 - 22.5 V
- DALI Bus Current: 9 mA
- DALI Insulation: Basic
⚠️ DALI wires are NOT SELV and should never be considered touch safe.
IEC Overvoltage Category: III
Diagram shows wire connections, wire gauge, torque specifications, and DALI electrical parameters.
Step 6: Mounting the Sensor Body
Secure the sensor body to the mounting surface.
- Torque: 0.5 Nm (4.4 Lb-in)
- Mounting Hole Diameter: Ø6.5 mm (0.26 in)
- Mounting Screw Size: 4.5 mm (0.18 in)
Diagram illustrates the process of attaching the sensor to a ceiling or wall mount, showing screw placement and torque.
Step 7A: Cable Entry Preparation
Prepare the cable entry point on the mounting surface.
- Cable Entry Hole Diameter: Ø64 mm (2.51 in)
- Cable Diameter Range: 3 - 25 mm (0.12 - 0.98 in)
Diagram shows the required hole size for cable entry and the range of acceptable cable diameters.
Step 7B & 7C: Final Assembly
Complete the sensor assembly by attaching the cover and routing cables.
- Outer Diameter: 89 mm (3.5 in)
- Internal component dimensions shown: 70 mm (2.75 in), 60 mm (2.36 in), 50 mm (1.96 in).
Diagrams illustrate the final steps of attaching the sensor cover and securing it, with cable management.
Step 8: System Connection Diagram
This diagram shows how the DUS360CS-D sensor connects to a DALI controller (e.g., DDBC120-DALI, DDBC320-DALI) and subsequently controls lighting fixtures via the DALI protocol.
Diagram shows a simplified wiring schematic: Sensor -> DALI Controller -> Light Bulb.
Step 9: Labeling and Planning
The final step involves labeling the sensor, typically with barcodes, for system planning and inventory management.
Diagram shows a hand scanning a barcode label on the sensor and a planning sheet with similar labels.
Regulatory and Legal Information
Electrical Safety: Do not connect inputs to mains. DALI wires are NOT SELV and should never be considered touch safe.
Refer to the Service Guide for full cleaning recommendations.
