Philips SNS210 IA (SWZCS) Interior Controls
The Philips SNS210 IA (SWZCS) is a sensor designed for luminaire-level lighting control, integrating seamlessly with the scalable Interact Pro system.
Product Overview
The Philips SNS210 represents an ideal solution for luminaire-level lighting control. It combines presence detection, daylight harvesting, and task tuning within a single compact assembly, facilitating easy luminaire integration. The SNS210 IA is designed to work with the standard Xitanium SR driver, simplifying a two-wire connection between the sensor and the driver. This eliminates the need for multiple components and auxiliary devices. A luminaire equipped with an integrated SNS210 sensor functions within the scalable Interact Pro system.
Note: The sensor is not sold separately; it must always be ordered as a factory-installed option with luminaires and conversion kits.

System Architecture Diagram Description
The diagram illustrates the Interact Pro system architecture, showing different levels: Interact Pro Basic (includes App. Interact Pro, Intelligent DEL Lamp, external battery-powered sensor, wireless luminaires with integrated sensors, 0-10V dimming module, phase-cut dimming module). Interact Pro Advanced adds a wireless gateway, wireless wall switch, and connected load control module. Interact Pro Enterprise integrates IT infrastructure, a Building Connectivity Point (PCB), and BACnet integration. The diagram also depicts the Interact IDO Platform and the SGB System, with wireless gateways connecting to the infrastructure.
Wiring Diagram
The wiring diagram shows the SNS210 IA sensor connected to the Xitanium SR LED driver. The SNS210 IA has terminals labeled SR, SR-, NC, and M.-À-T. The Xitanium SR driver has terminals for DEL+, DEL-, Rég.DEL, and Rég.M.-À-T. The diagram specifies using 0.75 mm² solid copper wire (20 AWG), rated for >= 600V / 90°C (194°F), with 8 mm (0.32 in) stripping.
Presence Detection
The detection area for the motion sensor can be broadly divided into two parts:
- Minor movement, individual moving: ≤ 0.9 m/s (2.95 ft/s)
- Major movement, individual moving: ≥ 0.9 m/s (2.95 ft/s)
Height (h) | Minor Movement (X1, Y1) | Major Movement (X2, Y2) | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
X1 | Y1 | X2 | Y2 | |
2.4 m (7.9 ft) | 1.9 m (6.2 ft) | 2.9 m (9.5 ft) | 2.9 m (9.5 ft) | 4.3 m (14.1 ft) |
3 m (9.8 ft) | 2.4 m (7.9 ft) | 3.6 m (11.8 ft) | 3.6 m (11.8 ft) | 5.4 m (17.7 ft) |
Note: The longer dimension of the detection area (Y1, Y2) is parallel to the longer dimension of the SNS210 IA.
Diagram Description: A diagram illustrates the presence detection area of the sensor, showing zones X1 and X2 for major movement and Y1 and Y2 for minor movement. H indicates the mounting height. The sensor is depicted mounted above a luminaire and near a window.
Daylight Sensor
The light sensor measures the total amount of light within a circular field of approximately 80% of the passive infrared detector's field of view. During installation, the following aspects must be observed:
- Minimum window distance ≥ 0.6 m (2 ft).
- Prevent reflections of external light from reaching the sensor (e.g., sunlight reflection off a car hood) as this could lead to incorrect light level readings.
As a guide, the formula 0.72 x H can be used to calculate the minimum distance between the window and the sensor, where H is the height from the bottom of the window to the ceiling.
Photocaptor Spatial Response
Diagram Description: This diagram shows the spatial response of the daylight sensor. It depicts a window, a luminaire, and the sensor's field of vision, indicated as 40°. The typical daylight zone is illustrated as approximately 3.6 m (11.8 ft) from the luminaire.
Photocaptor Spectral Response
Graph Description: This graph displays the spectral response of the daylight sensor and the human eye. The X-axis represents wavelength in nanometers (nm) from 200 to 1000. The Y-axis represents normalized output current. The 'Light Sensor' curve peaks around 550 nm, while the 'Human Eye' curve peaks slightly lower and has a broader distribution. Both curves show significant response within the visible light spectrum.
Specifications
All specifications are typical and at a Tc of 25°C unless otherwise specified.
