Important Safety Instructions for All Integral Battery Charging
WARNING: Follow all battery, charging cable, and product warnings. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
WARNING: Use only certified power adapters compliant with applicable regulations and safety standards. Use only the supplied DEWALT charging cable. The cable is for DEWALT tools only; using it for other tools may cause battery overheating or bursting.
- Do not expose the charging cable to water, rain, or snow.
- Disconnect by pulling the plugs, not the cord.
- Ensure the cord is not stepped on or tripped over.
- Do not use a damaged charging cable or plugs; replace them immediately.
- Keep conductive foreign materials away from charging plugs and ports.
- Always unplug the charging cable when not in use.
Charging Procedure (Fig. A, B)
- Pull the charging port cover (11) away from the speaker.
- Insert the charging plug (10) into the charging port (13).
- Plug the charger plug (9) into a power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter). Note: Charging takes approximately two hours with a 5V, 1A supply.
- The charge indicator LED (12) is red and continuously lit while charging.
- Charging is complete when the charge indicator LED (12) turns green and stays continuously lit. The battery can remain connected or the USB cable can be disconnected.
Hot/Cold Delay
The speaker suspends charging if the battery is too hot or too cold until it reaches an appropriate temperature (40°F to 104°F / 4°C to 40°C) to ensure maximum battery life. During this delay, the charge indicator LED (12) will not illuminate. Charging resumes when the temperature is within range, indicated by a blinking LED (12).
Important Charging Notes
- The speaker may become warm during charging; this is normal.
- If the speaker does not charge properly, take it and the USB cable to a local service center.
- You can charge a partially used battery without adverse effects.
Over Temperature Protection
If over temperature protection is activated, the charge indicator LED (12) will turn off. The unit can still be used during this cycle.
Checking State of Charge
When the speaker is powered ON, press the power button (1). The speaker will announce the remaining battery percentage. Note: This is an estimate and may vary based on components, temperature, and usage.
