Safety Instructions
- This appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction.
- AC outlet voltages vary by country. Ensure your area's voltage meets the device's requirements before connecting.
- Hold the plug end when unplugging the power cord. Never handle the power cord with wet hands.
- Do not place open flame sources, like burning candles, on or near the device.
- Do not operate in damp or wet locations, such as near bathtubs, sinks, or swimming pools.
- Keep plastic bags away from children to prevent suffocation risk.
- Do not cover any ventilation holes.
- This unit generates loud noises during operation; hearing protectors are recommended for extended cleaning sessions.
- Check the unit for damage after transportation. If damage is found, do not operate the unit and contact your dealer.
- The unit can run for extended periods, but the platter spindle and surrounding area may become hot. The platter temperature will not damage vinyl records. To keep temperatures low, avoid direct sunlight.
- The motor should not be turned on when not cleaning records. Extended running time outside the cleaning process can cause overheating.
Setting Up the Unit
The unit requires minimal assembly before use.
- Place the cover for the ventilation outlet (10) above the outlet (4) and use the supplied screws to fix it into position. The holes (13) for the screws are pre-drilled on the top side of the unit.
- Platter assembly: The platter (2) is supplied pre-assembled with the motor shaft bushing (8) and fixing screw (3). Place the two supplied white plastic washers on the motor shaft (11). These set the correct height of the platter. Place the assembled platter on top of the washers and use the supplied allen key to tighten the platter onto the shaft.
This product is intended for non-commercial use only.
Using the Unit
Ensure all assembly and setup steps have been followed. Ensure all three rocker switches (main switch, motor, and vacuum) are in the "0" position. Connect the power cord to the rear socket of the VC-E2 and turn the main switch to the "I" position.
- Place a record on the platter and secure it with the magnetic clamp.
- While the record is turning, apply approximately 3ml of ready-to-use cleaning fluid to the record. Hold the brush horizontally and gently press it against the record, spreading the fluid across the surface. Use only enough fluid to cover the record, not the machine.
Do not use cleaning fluids from other suppliers. Use only enough fluid so it does not regularly get on the machine's surface. If this occurs, remove excess fluid with a tissue.
Cleaning efficiency can be improved by applying appropriate pressure with the cleaning brush. Using warmed-up Wash It 2 cleaning fluid can further enhance cleaning. Wash It 2 can be warmed in a microwave oven up to 40 degrees Celsius. Exercise caution to avoid record damage. Wash It 2 is non-flammable and non-toxic. Use at your own risk.
The motor can turn in both directions or be stopped during fluid application. To change direction, select the "I" position for clockwise rotation or the "II" position for counter-clockwise rotation.
It is recommended to use the brush to spread the Wash it 2 cleaning fluid on the record in both directions before vacuuming. For better impurity dissolution, wait a few seconds (longer for heavily soiled records) before starting the vacuuming process.
Once the fluid covers the record, turn the motor switch to the "I" position (if not already there) and place the vacuum arm above the record, pointing at the spindle, until it reaches its lock position. Turn the vacuum motor to the "I" position simultaneously as you lower the arm onto the record. After the cleaning fluid is vacuumed, switch off the vacuum, followed by the motor (one rotation on "I" and another on "II" is recommended). Return the vacuum arm to its rest position and wait a few seconds for the record to dry. Remove the clamp, turn the record over, and repeat steps for the other side.
Overheating Protection: The VC-E2 is equipped with automatic overheating protection that switches off the motor in case of excessive use. After cooling down, the VC-E2 will return to its operational status.
After Use Tip: To prevent rust and keep internal parts dry, remove the vacuum arm from its flange and switch the vacuum motor on for 15-30 seconds to blow away any remaining liquid. Do not repack the VC-E2 in its original plastic bag.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Your record cleaning machine requires minimal maintenance.
The internal tank has a large capacity and takes a long time to reach full capacity. For common home use, emptying the tank is not required as the vacuumed liquid evaporates. In rare cases, the tank may need emptying:
- Disconnect the mains cable.
- Turn the VC-E2 upside down to drain the reservoir into a large container.
- Clean any liquid on the unit's body with a cloth.
Regularly check the velvet strips on the arm for cleanliness and ensure no dirt or debris is present.
Prior to maintenance, always disconnect the record cleaning machine from the power outlet!
How to Replace Vacuum Arm Strips
Remove the old strip from the vacuum arm and clean off any glue residue. A transparent plastic tool is included with the strips in the accessory box. Insert the tool fully into the groove to help place the new strip onto the arm.
