How to Set Time and Date (Radio Signal Reception)

Mechanism of Radio Signal Reception

The watch synchronizes its time and date with standard frequency signals broadcast from atomic clocks. The selected home time city code determines which transmitting station the watch attempts to receive signals from.

Automatic and Manual Reception

Automatic Reception: Occurs daily at 2:00 AM, 3:00 AM, or 4:00 AM, provided the watch is in HOME TIME or DUAL TIME mode and placed in a favorable reception environment. Reception stops if successful.

Manual Reception: Can be initiated at any time by pressing and holding [Button C] for over 3 seconds in the HOME TIME mode.

Reception Environment

Radio signal reception is influenced by various factors. Place the watch in an open area, preferably near a window, and keep it stationary during reception.

Radio Signal Reception Range

The watch can receive signals from:

  • Japan (JJY): Approx. 1000 km radius from Hagane-yama (60 kHz) and Ohtakadoya-yama (40 kHz) stations. Indicators: JP40, JP60.
  • Germany (DCF77): Approx. 700 km radius from Mainflingen (77.5 kHz) station. Indicator: GE77.
  • United Kingdom (MSF): Approx. 800 km radius from Anthorn (60 kHz) station. Indicator: UK60.
  • United States (WWVB): Approx. 1500 km radius from Fort Collins (60 kHz) station. Indicator: US60.

To Improve Reception: Rotate the watch towards the transmitting station, place it near a window, and keep it stationary. Avoid environments with radio interference, such as inside buildings, near tall structures, heavy traffic, electrical appliances, or metal furniture.
