How to Use
Boiling Water
- Ensure the voltage matches your home's supply.
- Place the base on a stable surface and connect to an earthed socket.
- Open the lid by pressing the button.
- Fill the kettle with the desired amount of water (between 0.5L and 1.7L) and close the lid.
- Place the kettle on the base and ensure it is properly connected.
- Switch the kettle on by pressing the on/off switch down to position 1. The pilot lamp will illuminate.
- The kettle will automatically switch off when the water boils, and the pilot lamp will turn off.
- Caution: Never operate the kettle without water. Dry-boil protection will automatically shut it off if empty. If this happens, remove from base, let it cool, refill, and switch on again. Ensure the lid is properly closed for correct auto-shutoff.
Switching the Kettle Off
The kettle automatically switches off after boiling. If you wish to boil water again, wait approximately 30 seconds for the switch to cool down before re-switching. You can also switch the kettle off manually at any time using the on/off switch. Removing the kettle from the base during operation will also switch it off. Wait approximately 30 seconds after placing it back on the base before switching it on again.
Maintenance
Descaling
Scale can build up inside the kettle, especially with hard water. Descale regularly using a suitable descaling product or lemon juice.
- Lemon Juice Method: Fill the kettle halfway with warm water, add the juice of half a lemon, boil the water, let it cool for 30 minutes, discard the water, and rinse thoroughly. Refill with fresh water, boil, and discard again.
- Never clean the appliance with detergents, as they can cause damage.
- To clean the anti-scale filter, remove it from the spout when the kettle is cool. Clean with warm water and reinsert correctly.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Clean the kettle and base regularly for optimal performance. Never immerse the kettle, base, or plug in water or other liquids. Always unplug the appliance and let it cool before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring agents.
