Shelly Plus 0-10V Dimmer: User and Safety Guide
Product Introduction
The Shelly Plus 0-10V Dimmer is an innovative microprocessor-managed device designed for remote control of electric circuits, specifically for dimming 0-10V compatible lighting systems. It allows users to control lighting via a mobile phone, tablet, PC, or home automation system. Devices can operate standalone in a local Wi-Fi network or be integrated with cloud home automation services like Shelly Cloud. Remote access and control are available via the Shelly mobile application (Android/iOS) or any internet browser at https://control.shelly.cloud/. An embedded web interface is also accessible at http://192.168.33.1
(or the device's IP address) for monitoring, control, and settings adjustment. Shelly devices support communication with other Wi-Fi devices via HTTP and offer an API for integration, detailed at https://shelly-api-docs.shelly.cloud/#shelly-family-overview. Firmware updates are provided free of charge by Shelly Europe Ltd. to maintain conformity and security; users are responsible for installing these updates.
Schematic Overview
The device features terminals labeled: Dim+, Dim-, V+, V, S1, S2, L, and N. Based on the legend, the '+' terminal serves as the 0-10V positive output, and the '-' terminal serves as the 0-10V negative output. 'L' is the Live terminal (110-240 VAC), and 'N' is the Neutral terminal. 'S1' and 'S2' are input terminals for switches. The device is rated for 110-240 VAC and a maximum load of 2A. It is designed for 0-10V dimming control.
Installation Instructions
⚠ CAUTION! Read this section carefully before installation.
The Shelly Plus 0-10V Dimmer is a smart 0-10V dimming controller. It is not intended for direct control of LED lights.
The device can be installed in standard electrical wall boxes, behind power sockets, light switches, or other confined spaces.
Safety Precautions:
- Danger of electrocution: Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician.
- Ensure no voltage is present at the device terminals before making any connection changes.
- Do not open the device; it contains no user-serviceable parts. Unauthorized modifications are prohibited.
- Use the device only with power grids and appliances that comply with all applicable regulations.
- A short circuit in the power grid or connected appliances may damage the device.
- Do not connect the device to appliances exceeding its maximum load rating.
- Connect the device only as shown in the instructions. Incorrect methods may cause damage or injury.
- Do not use the device if it shows signs of damage. Do not attempt self-repair.
- Do not install the device where it can get wet.
- The device and its load circuit must be protected by a circuit breaker according to EN60898-1 (tripping characteristic B or C, max. 2 A rated current, min. 6 kA interrupting rating, energy limiting class 3).
RECOMMENDATION: Connect the device using solid single-core wires or stranded wires with ferrules.
Connection Steps:
- Before starting, ensure all breakers are turned off and there is no voltage at the terminals using a voltage tester or multimeter.
- Connect the device's positive output (+) to the LED driver's 0-10V positive input.
- Connect the device's negative output (-) to the LED driver's 0-10V negative input.
- Connect the Live wire to the device's L terminal.
- Connect the Neutral wire to the device's N terminal.
- Ensure the Live wire is protected by a circuit breaker with a rated current of less than 2 A.
- Connect switches or buttons to the device's S1 and S2 terminals and the Live wire.
- The device supports single or dual button modes, or a single switch mode. In single input mode, S2 remains detached.
- ATTENTION! Do not use buttons or switches with built-in LEDs or glow lamps.
- Connect the LED driver to its power supply and the LED lights according to the LED driver manufacturer's instructions.
Initial Inclusion
The Shelly Plus 0-10V Dimmer can be integrated with the Shelly Smart Control mobile application and cloud service for remote management. Instructions are available in the mobile application guide. However, the device functions correctly standalone or with other home automation platforms and protocols without the Shelly Cloud service.
⚠ CAUTION! Keep devices for remote control (mobile phones, tablets, PCs) away from children. Do not allow children to play with the buttons/switches connected to the device.
