ProSense Float Level Switch Kits
ProSense float level switch kits offer the flexibility to assemble a customized two-float level switch in the field, with a maximum stem length of 36 inches (914.4 mm). These kits are available in two material constructions to suit different liquid compatibility needs.
Kit Components
Each kit includes the following components:
- A 2-inch NPT male threaded pipe plug with an attached cuttable mounting tube.
- Two additional cuttable connecting tubes.
- Two floats.
- Two SPST switch capsules, configurable as normally closed or normally open based on float orientation.
- Four compression unions.
- One compression end cap.
Assembly Overview
The assembly process for ProSense float level switch kits generally involves these steps:
- Arrange the supplied components according to the desired configuration.
- Determine and cut the connecting tubes to the required lengths.
- Deburr and smooth any sharp edges on the cut tubes before installation.
- Conduct a trial assembly. Use a continuity indicator (e.g., light, buzzer, Ohm meter) to verify that the switch actuation levels are correct and the switch action (normally open or normally closed) matches the application requirements.
- Once the switch setup is satisfactory, tighten all fittings. Apply thread sealant to the pipe threads on the top fitting before installing the switch into the tank.

*Each float can be configured as either normally open or normally closed. Electrical ratings are for resistive loads only. For inductive loads, maximum life is achieved with appropriate transient suppression (e.g., MOV or TVS).
Caution: Not recommended for use with PLC AC inputs or other digital AC input devices, as this may damage the switch or input device.
