INSTEON Assurance Kit Quick Start Guide
Welcome to your INSTEON smart home. This guide will help you set up your INSTEON Hub and connect your devices.
INSTEON Starter Kit Components
The INSTEON Starter Kit includes the INSTEON Hub, which is the central controller for your smart home devices. Key components of the Hub are:
- Status LED: Indicates the Hub's current state. A green light typically means it is idle or linking, while a flashing red light may indicate unlinking.
- Factory Reset Button: Used to restore the Hub to its default settings.
- Power Port: Connects the Hub to a power source.
- Ethernet Port: Connects the Hub to your internet router for network connectivity.
You will also find an Ethernet Cable and a Power Cable included in the kit.
Setup Your Kit
Follow these steps to set up your INSTEON Hub:
Step 1: Connect the Hub
Connect the INSTEON Hub to a power outlet using the provided power cable and to your internet router using the provided Ethernet cable. Ensure you connect directly to the router and avoid using power strips or switched outlets.

Step 2: Download the App
Download and install the latest 'INSTEON for Hub' app from your device's app store (e.g., Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

Step 3: Create an Account
Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same network as the INSTEON Hub. Launch the 'INSTEON for Hub' app and create a new account or sign in if you already have one.

Step 4: Add Devices
Follow the on-screen instructions within the app to add your INSTEON devices to the Hub. This typically involves tapping a '+' icon.

INSTEON Devices
Your INSTEON Hub can connect to a variety of smart devices. Here are some examples:
On/Off Module
This module allows you to control lights and appliances. It features a Status LED (indicating On/Off states) and a Set Button. It supports a maximum load of 1,800W/15A.

Open/Close Sensor
This sensor detects when doors or windows are opened or closed. It includes a Set Button, Status LED, a Magnet component, and is powered by an AA Battery (Included).

Motion Sensor
This sensor detects motion. It has a Status LED, a Wall Mount Retention Slot, Settings Jumpers, a Set Button, and is powered by a 9V Battery (Included).

Leak Sensor
This sensor detects water leaks. It features a Set Button, Status LED, and Water Contacts (Metal). It is powered by an AA Battery (Included).

Remote Access
Enable Remote Access in the INSTEON for Hub app to monitor and control your devices from anywhere, even when you are away from home.

Create a Schedule
You can automate your smart home by creating schedules for individual devices or entire scenes. Access this feature by going to 'Settings' and tapping 'Schedules' within the INSTEON for Hub app.
