INSTEON Home Kit Quick Start Guide
INSTEON Hub
The INSTEON Hub is the central component of your smart home system. It connects to your home network and allows you to control your INSTEON devices.
- Status LED: Indicates the hub's operational state: ? Idle, ? Linking, ? Unlinking.
- Ports: Features an Ethernet Port for network connectivity and a Power port for electrical connection.
- Button: Includes a recessed Factory Reset Button.
- Included Cables: Comes with an Ethernet Cable and a Power Cable. It is recommended to use only the cables provided with the unit.
Getting Started
Step 1: Download the App
Download and install the latest INSTEON for Hub App from your device's app store. Scan the QR Code for the free app.
Step 2: Setup Your Hub
Launch the INSTEON for Hub App and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your INSTEON Hub.

Step 3: Add Devices
Follow the on-screen instructions within the app to add your INSTEON devices to the hub.

Remote Access
Enable remote access to monitor and control your devices from anywhere. To configure remote access, navigate to Settings > House > Remote Access Guide within the app.

Device Overviews
On/Off Module
This module is used to control lights and appliances. It features a Status LED (? On, ? Off) and manual controls for On, Off, and a Set Button. It supports a maximum load of up to 1,800W/15A. Learn more at insteon.com/onoffmodule-qsg.
Motion Sensor
This sensor detects motion. Key components include a Status LED, a Wall Mount Retention Slot, Settings Jumpers for configuration, a 9V Battery compartment (battery included), and a Set Button. Open/Close Sensor
This sensor is designed to detect the opening or closing of doors and windows. It includes a Set Button, a Status LED, and a Magnet component for sensing. Thermostat
This device manages your home's temperature. It features buttons for Temperature Adjust (up/down arrows), a Mode button, and a Set Button. A Status LED indicates its operational state, and the display shows the current temperature (e.g., 72°). Learn more at insteon.com/thermostat-qsg.
WiFi Camera
This camera provides visual monitoring for your home. It is equipped with a Day/Night Sensor, Night Vision LEDs, a Microphone, and a Speaker. Connectivity options include an Ethernet port, a Power port (DC5V2A), and an Audio Antenna. Learn more at insteon.com/wificamera-qsg.
