WARNING
Not all roof racks can safely accommodate rooftop tents. Even if your roof rack can accommodate your rooftop tent you need to check the weight capacity of your vehicle from your vehicle manufacturer before installation.
- Before using the rooftop tent for the first time, it is recommended to check all components have been included and you become familiar with the assembly of the rooftop tent by reading through the instructions first.
- DO NOT set up near open flame. The fabric will burn if left in continuous contact with any flame source.
- DO NOT use any form of flame or fuel burning appliances, heaters, candles or matches inside the rooftop tent.
- DO NOT smoke inside the tent.
- Ensure engine is turned off and handbrake brake fully engaged before setting up the rooftop tent.
- Keep away from any overhead power lines and do not set up under trees where there is the potential for either falling branches or lightning strikes to occur.
- The rooftop tent is designed to provide temporary shelter. Strong wind can damage the rooftop tent and could result in injury to you and others. Pack down the rooftop tent before extreme weather events.
- To keep the Roof Top Tent upright in the event of a rare failure of the gas struts, please ensure that the support pole inside the tent is secured into place with the hook and loop provided.
- Be cautious when handling the frame. Avoid pinching hands or fingers in any moving parts.
- It is recommended a four person lift when installing to vehicle.
- Keep children away from the set up area.
Any elements carried on the vehicle roof can change normal vehicle handling. If you are using your car more than your tent, consider removing it to prevent accidental damage from the elements or theft. The manufacturer disclaims all responsibility in case of accidents due to improper use, wrong maintenance or not checking the tightness of the fastening hardware on the roof rack system and tent.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The following are some helpful tips on how to clean and properly store your rooftop tent.
- DO NOT use soap or detergent. Clean only with cold water and a brush. DO NOT expose to petrol, oil or solvents.
- Wash frame, ladder and canopy with a mild solution of soap and water, rinse thoroughly. Dry completely. Do not use bleach or solvents.
- DO NOT spray insecticides or bug repellent directly or near any fabric as there is potential to cause damage to the fabric.
- Inspect frame periodically to ensure all bolts and nuts are tight.
- Never store the rooftop tent wet. If rooftop tent is packed when wet, set up under cover as soon as possible. Leave rooftop tent open to dry completely before storing away.
- Due to cold air outside and warm air inside, the rooftop tent may develop condensation on the inside of the rooftop tent. This is a natural event and adequate ventilation will help minimise this.
ROOF RACK REQUIREMENTS
Rooftop tents can be mounted to many vehicle makes and models. Before fitting, please check the load rating of your vehicle's roof is sufficient to support the weight of the tent, two people and extra gear.
Please take into consideration the weight of the rooftop tent and ensure you have checked the static and dynamic load capacity of your roof racks before mounting the tent. Rooftop tent weighs approximately 60kgs.
To avoid damage to your vehicle and rooftop tent, avoid exceeding a speed limit of 100km/h. We recommend you check the maximum speed limit for your roof racks before starting your trip.
