Important Information
Battery
The battery installed at the factory may discharge during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of low power (dim display), replace the battery at the nearest authorized CASIO service center or CASIO dealer.
Water Resistance
For all types of watches, it is prohibited to:
- Press buttons underwater.
- Change the time with the crown underwater.
- Unscrew the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Water Resistance Classification
Watches are classified into levels (I to V) according to their water resistance. Check your watch's classification in the table below to determine its proper usage.
Class | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Car Washing, etc. | Diving, Snorkeling, etc. | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT / 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Note: Class I watches are not water resistant. Avoid exposure to any moisture.
Understanding Water Resistance Ratings
Class II WR (Water Resistant): Indicates the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
Class III (5 Bar / 50 Meters): The watch can withstand water pressure of the indicated level and can be used while showering and for brief swimming.
Class IV (10 Bar / 100 Meters): The watch can be used during regular swimming and snorkeling.
Class V (20 Bar / 200 Meters): The watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding dives requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
Care for Your Watch
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your dealer or a CASIO distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Although designed for active daily use, wear the watch carefully and avoid dropping it.
- Do not overtighten the strap. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap.
- To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile substances (e.g., gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners).
- When not using your watch, store it in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions from these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
- Some models feature silk-screened designs on the strap. Be careful when cleaning these straps to avoid damaging the prints.
Special Care Instructions
For Watches with Plastic Straps
- You may find a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.
- Exposure of plastic straps to sweat or moisture, or storage in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for the plastic strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.
For Watches with Fluorescent Cases and Straps
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with any other damp surface may cause the fluorescent color to discolor. Ensure moisture is removed from the fluorescent surface and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of a surface with fluorescent paint against another surface may transfer the fluorescent paint to that surface.
Slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass in conditions of rapid temperature change. This is a normal phenomenon due to physical laws and is not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur during the use of this watch, and does not accept any claims from third parties.
