General Precautions

Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures. Although designed for normal use, avoid rough handling and dropping.

Do not fasten the strap too tightly. A finger should fit between your wrist and the strap.

Use a dry soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a water solution of mild neutral detergent, to clean the watch and strap. Never use volatile agents (e.g., gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.).

When not in use, store the watch in a dry place.

Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.

Some models feature silk-screened designs on the strap. Be careful when cleaning such straps to avoid damaging the designs.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - READ FIRST

Battery

The battery installed at the factory may discharge during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of insufficient power (dim display), replace the battery at the nearest authorized CASIO service center or CASIO distributor.

Water Resistance

For all categories of watches, do not:

If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.

Do not wear a watch with a leather strap while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.

For watches with plastic straps...

You may notice a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.

Sweat or moisture on a plastic strap, or storage in high humidity, can damage, tear, or crack the strap. To ensure a long service life for plastic straps, wipe them clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.

For watches with fluorescent cases and straps...

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent coloring to gradually fade. Prolonged contact with moisture can also cause the fluorescent coloring to fade. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible. Prolonged contact with any other wet surface can cause discoloration of the fluorescent coloring. Ensure the fluorescent surface is dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.

Water Resistance Classification

Watches are classified into classes (from I to V) according to their degree of water resistance. Check your watch's class using the table below to determine correct usage.

Class Case Marking Splashes, rain, car washing, etc. Swimming, snorkeling, etc. Swimming, skin diving, etc. Scuba diving, etc.

Notes

Strong friction of a surface with applied fluorescent paint against another surface can cause the fluorescent paint to transfer to that surface.

CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch, nor does it accept claims from third parties.

Slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass when the product is used in conditions of rapid temperature change. This is a natural phenomenon due to physics and not a defect.

1: Watch is not water-resistant. Avoid any moisture.

2: II WR (Water Resistant) means the model is water-resistant according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.

3: With 5 BAR (50 meters) water resistance, the watch can withstand water pressure of the indicated value and can be used during showering and brief swimming.

4: Water resistance of 10 BAR (100 meters) means the watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.

5: Water resistance of 20 BAR (200 meters) means the watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).

Watch Care

Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover.

The rubber gasket protecting the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.

If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your dealer or a CASIO distributor.

General Description of Operating Modes

The watch cycles through modes using button "C": Current Time Mode → World Time Mode → Countdown Timer Mode → Stopwatch Mode → Alarm Mode → Analog Time Mode → Current Time Mode. Press button "B" in any mode to activate the backlight.

Button Layout (Conceptual Description)

The watch has four buttons labeled A, B, C, and D. Button B is typically used for backlight activation. Button C is used for mode switching. Buttons A, B, and D are used for setting values and performing specific functions within each mode.

Display Elements (Conceptual Description)

The display shows the current time (hours, minutes, seconds), day of the week (e.g., THU), date (e.g., 36), and mode indicators.

CURRENT TIME MODE

Pressing button "D" cycles the display between the day of the week, month/date, and current time (hour/minute).

Setting Time and Date

  1. In Current Time Mode, press and hold button "A". The seconds display will flash.
  2. Press button "C" to cycle through the settings: Seconds → DST (Daylight Saving Time) → City Code → Hour → Minute → 12/24 Hour Format → Year → Month → Day → Illumination Duration.
  3. If seconds are selected (flashing), press button "D" to reset the seconds to 00. If button "D" is pressed when seconds are between 30 and 59, the seconds reset to 00 and 1 is added to the minutes. If seconds are between 00 and 29, minutes are not affected.
  4. Use buttons "B" and "D" to change the values for minutes, etc.
  5. Press button "D" to switch between 12-hour and 24-hour formats. In the 12-hour format, "P" indicates PM.

  8. Press button "D" to switch the illumination duration between 1 second and 3 seconds.

Holding down a button allows values to change at a faster rate.

The day of the week is set automatically according to the date.

The date can be set from January 1, 2000, to December 31, 2039.

After setting the date and time, press button "A".

Backlight

Press button "B" in any mode to turn on the backlight. The backlight uses electroluminescent (EL) elements, whose power decreases after prolonged use.

The watch emits an audible signal during illumination. This is due to the vibration of the backlight elements and is not an indication of malfunction.

The backlight is difficult to see in direct sunlight.

Frequent use of the backlight reduces battery life.

To switch the illumination duration (1 second - 3 seconds), press button "D" in Current Time Mode.

Auto-backlight

You can turn the auto-backlight function ON or OFF by pressing button "B" for 2 seconds in Current Time Mode. The auto-backlight activates automatically when your hand is tilted at an angle of 40 degrees relative to the ground.

Do not use the auto-backlight function when the light could cause harm or distraction, such as when operating a motorcycle or bicycle.

WORLD TIME MODE

This mode allows you to view the local time in any of 27 cities worldwide (29 time zones).

Viewing Time in Another Time Zone

In World Time Mode, press button "D" to select the city whose time you want to view. To turn Daylight Saving Time ON or OFF for another city, select the city name and press and hold button "A". When DST is ON, the "DST" indicator appears next to the city name.

TIMER MODE

The countdown timer can be set from 1 to 60 minutes. When the countdown reaches zero, a long beep sounds. The last 10 seconds of the countdown will beep every second.

In auto-repeat mode, when the countdown reaches zero, a beep sounds, and the countdown immediately restarts from the previously set value. This can repeat up to 8 times.

You can also set a sound signal for the countdown process. At the start of every fifth minute and 30 seconds before the end, 4 short beeps will sound. Then, a beep will sound every second for the last 10 seconds.

If the timer start time is 6 minutes or more, a beep will sound every second for the last 10 seconds down to the 5-minute mark. At the 5-minute mark, 4 short beeps will sound.

  4. Use button "D" to turn Auto-Repeat ON or OFF.
  5. After completing the settings, press button "A".

The Stopwatch Mode allows you to measure split times, intermediate results, and dual finishes. The measurable range for the total elapsed time is limited to 59 minutes and 59.99 seconds.

Measurement Methods

a) Measuring split times:

D (Start) → D (Stop) → D (Restart) → D (Stop) → A (Reset)

b) Measuring intermediate results:

  1. In Analog Time Mode, press and hold button "A".
  2. Use button "D" to set the current time. Each press of button "D" advances the time by 20 seconds. Pressing button "B" while holding down button "D" allows values to change at a faster rate. Press any button to stop the rapid change.
  3. After completing the settings, press button "A".

ALARM MODE

You can set various daily alarms. At the set time, the alarm will sound for 20 seconds.
