Assembly and User Guide

Product Overview

The IKEA NÖDMAST is a battery-powered LED lamp designed for indoor use. It provides adjustable lighting and is powered by four AA batteries or via a USB connection.

Safety and Usage Information

[!] For indoor use only.
The light source of this luminaire is not replaceable. When the light source reaches its end of life, the entire luminaire must be replaced.
[!] This product is not intended for children due to its electrical components. IKEA recommends that only adults handle the charging process.
Regularly examine the cord, plug, enclosure, and other parts for damage. Do not use the product if any part is damaged.
[!] Connect only to SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage) power sources.
[!] Use only batteries that are intended for this product. Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different brands or types.

Assembly Instructions

The NÖDMAST lamp requires simple assembly:

Step 1: Attach the Pole to the Base.
Insert the pole into the base. Secure it by inserting a screw through the base and into the pole, then tightening it with a washer and nut. (Diagram shows a screw, washer, and nut being used to connect the pole to the base).
Step 2: Attach the Lampshade.
Place the lampshade onto the top of the pole. Align the holes and secure the lampshade by inserting screws through the designated points on the lampshade and into the pole. (Diagram shows the lampshade being placed and secured with screws).

Battery Installation

The lamp is powered by four AA batteries:

Open the battery compartment located in the base of the lamp.
Insert four AA batteries (HR06, 1.2V), observing the correct polarity (+ and -). (Diagram shows four AA batteries being inserted into the compartment).
Close and secure the battery compartment cover with the provided screw.
IKEA recommends using LADDA rechargeable batteries (2450 mAh HR06 AA 1.2V).

Charging

The lamp can also be charged via USB:

Use a USB-C cable and a compatible USB charger (5V DC Min 1A, SELV).
IKEA recommends the SMÅHAGEL 1-port USB charger (ICPSW5-5EU-1).
Connect the USB-C cable to the port on the lamp base and to the USB charger. (Diagram shows a USB-C cable being plugged into the lamp base).

Operation and LED Indicator

To operate the lamp:

Touch the designated point on the base to turn the lamp on or off.
Touch and hold the same point to adjust the brightness. (Diagrams illustrate touching the base to control the light).

LED Indicator Status:

Pulsing White LED: Charging in progress.
Steady White LED: Charging complete.
Flashing White LED: Error. This can occur if batteries are inserted incorrectly, or if non-rechargeable or damaged batteries are used.
