Battery
If you notice signs of insufficient power, such as unclear display or no backlight, replace the battery at an authorized CASIO dealer or distributor. The battery included in new watches is for initial testing purposes and may have a shorter service life than standard batteries.
Water Resistance
Watches are classified by water resistance levels (from I to V). Refer to the table below to determine usage guidelines for your watch model.
Marking on Case | Splashes, Rain, Washing | Swimming, Jogging | Diving, Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|
I WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No |
II 50M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No |
III 100M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No |
IV 200M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V 300M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes for respective categories:
- I: Water-resistant watches. Avoid any contact with water.
- III: If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
- IV: If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
- V: This watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
ATTENTION!!! For all categories of watches, it is forbidden to:
- Press buttons underwater.
- Adjust the time underwater.
- Unscrew the crown underwater.
IMPORTANT!!! Some water-resistant watches have leather straps. Do not wear these watches while swimming or during any other activity where the strap might get wet.
Watch Care
Regular maintenance is crucial for longevity.
- The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture enters the watch, have it inspected immediately by an authorized CASIO dealer or distributor.
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme high or low temperatures.
- While watches are designed for normal use, avoid rough handling and dropping them.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly. A finger should fit between your wrist and the strap.
- To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile substances like gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.
- When not in use, store the watch in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions from these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
- Some models feature silk-screened designs on their straps. Clean these straps carefully to avoid damaging the designs.
For watches with polymer straps:
- You may notice a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a soft cloth.
- Sweat or moisture on a polymer strap, or storage in high humidity, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for the polymer strap, wipe it clean of dirt and moisture with a soft cloth as often as possible.
For watches with fluorescent cases and straps:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. Remove any moisture from the watch surface as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with a damp surface may cause discoloration of the fluorescent color. Ensure the fluorescent surface is free of moisture and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of a surface with applied fluorescent paint against another surface may transfer the fluorescent paint.
