Important Information
Battery
The battery installed at the factory may discharge during shipping and storage. If you notice the first signs of low power (e.g., a dim display), the battery needs to be replaced. Contact your nearest CASIO authorized service center or a CASIO distributor for replacement.
Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, the following are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater.
- Setting hands underwater.
- Unscrewing the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it completely. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Water Resistance Ratings
Watches are classified by water resistance ratings (from I to V) according to their level of protection against water. Check your watch's rating using the table below to determine its proper usage.
Rating | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Car Washing, etc. | Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, etc. | Diving with Aqua-lung |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Note:
- Rating I: Watches are not water-resistant. Avoid any moisture ingress.
Water Resistance Explanations
- II WR (Water Resistant): Indicates the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
- III 5 Bar (50 meters): Watches are capable of withstanding water pressure of the indicated level and can be used while showering and for brief swimming.
- IV 10 Bar (100 meters): Indicates that the watch can be used during regular swimming and snorkeling.
- V 20 Bar (200 meters): Indicates that the watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths that require a helium-oxygen mixture).
Care for Your Watch
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2 to 3 years.
- If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest dealer or CASIO distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Although the watch is designed for active daily use, wear it carefully and avoid drops.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap.
- To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile substances (e.g., gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.).
- When you are not using your watch, store it in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's polish.
- Some watch models feature silk-screened designs on their straps. Be careful when cleaning such straps to avoid damaging these patterns.
Care for Specific Strap Types
For watches with plastic straps:
- You may find a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is not harmful to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.
- Exposure of plastic straps to sweat or moisture, or storing them in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for the plastic strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth at the first opportunity.
For watches with fluorescent cases and straps:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with any other damp surface can cause the fluorescent color to discolor. Check that moisture has been removed from the fluorescent surface and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of a surface with applied fluorescent color against another surface can transfer the fluorescent color to that surface.
