Find My Device Manual
This manual provides instructions for using your Find My device.
Quick Instructions
- Turn on the device: Press and hold the button for 5 seconds. The device will beep and turn on.
- Pair the device:
- Open the Find My app.
- Hold the device close to your iPhone, tap the Items tab, tap +, and then Add Other Item.
- Tap Connect.
- Type a name for your device and select an emoji.
- Tap Agree to acknowledge that this item will be linked to your Apple ID.
- Tap Finish.
- Enable Lost Mode:
- Open the Find My app, tap the Items tab, then tap your item.
- Under Lost Mode, tap Enable.
- Read the instructions, tap Continue, and enter a phone number or email address.
- Confirm the information, customize the lost message, and tap Activate to complete the setup.
- Remove the device:
- Open the Find My app, tap the Items tab, then tap your item.
- Tap Remove Item and then tap Remove to complete the operation.
Note: After removing the device from the app, it will beep and the light will flash six times. It will remain in pairing mode for 10 minutes. If not re-paired within this time, it will exit pairing mode. To re-pair, click the device button once; it will beep and the light will flash once, entering pairing state.
Main Functions
- Locate your item: If your item is not nearby, the Find My app uses the Find My network (hundreds of millions of Apple devices worldwide) to help track it. Nearby devices securely send the location to iCloud anonymously and encrypted.
- Play Sound: Open the Find My app, tap the Items tab, then tap your item. Click Play Sound; the device will beep to help you find it easily.
Instructions for Device Button
- Power on: Long press the button for five seconds. The device will beep, the light will flash three times, and it will turn on.
- Device status confirmation: Double-click the device button. The device will beep, and the light will flash three times, indicating it is working. If it does not ring, it is off.
- Enter pairing state again: After removing the item from the Find My app, the device will beep and flash six times. If not re-paired within 10 minutes, click the button once to enter pairing state (beep and flash once).
- Factory Reset: Remove the item from the Find My app. With the device powered on, double-click the button. The device will beep. Long press the button for eight seconds until it beeps and flashes three times. Release the button to complete the reset. The device can now be paired.
- Power off: When the device is on, press the button 5 times in 2 seconds. The device will beep, flash three times, and power off.
FAQ
- When can the device be located? When an item is separated from its owner for a period, it can be found by other Apple devices in the Find My network.
- How to confirm if the device is turned on? Double-click the device button. If it beeps and flashes three times, it's working. If not, it's off.
- How is the device designed to discourage unwanted tracking? If a Find My network accessory separated from its owner is detected moving with you over time, you will be notified via your Apple device (iOS 14.5 or later) or the accessory will emit a sound if moved.
- How is privacy protected? Only you can see your item's location. Location data is not stored on the item, and relaying devices remain anonymous and encrypted.
- Battery Specifications: Replaceable battery capacity: 3.7V-130mAh.
- Wireless charging instructions:
- Align the wireless charging location sign on the device with the center of the wireless charger.
- The LED light will turn on, and the device will beep once when charging.
- A full charge takes approximately 45 minutes from no battery.
- What is the Find My network? It's a secure network using the Find My app to locate compatible personal items on a map. It's encrypted and anonymous, protecting user privacy.
