HuTools support FAQ
Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.
-
How do I change the Master Code on my HuTools lock?
To change the Master Code (default 12345678), press the HuTools button twice, enter the old Master Code, and press the HuTools button once. Then press the number '1', enter your new 4-10 digit code, and press the HuTools button. Repeat the new code and press the button again to confirm.
-
How do I reset my HuTools lock to factory settings?
Remove one battery from the lock. Press and hold the reset button on the interior assembly. While holding the button, reinsert the battery and continue holding until the latch bolt extends and you hear a beep. This restores the default Master Code and deletes all user settings.
-
Does the HuTools keypad lock have an auto-lock feature?
Yes, the auto-lock feature can be enabled to lock the door automatically between 10 and 99 seconds after unlocking. By default, this feature is disabled and must be programmed using the Master Code.
-
What kind of batteries does the HuTools lock require?
The lock typically requires 4 AA alkaline batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries or mix old and new batteries, as this may affect performance.
-
What should I do if the latch does not extend properly during installation?
If the latch binds or does not extend, ensure the bolt hole in the door frame is at least 1 inch deep. Also, perform the door orientation detection (reset process) again so the lock learns whether it is on a right-handed or left-handed door.
