Safety Information
- Do not expose the lock to direct water spray or submersion. While weather-resistant, it is advised to install under sheltered areas.
- Use only specified battery type (4 AA batteries). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

Installation Guide
The HuTools DKS01 lock is designed for simple DIY installation and fits most standard American doors. A screwdriver is the only tool required.
1. Prepare the Door
Ensure your door meets the specified dimensions for thickness and hole diameter. The lock is reversible and works with both left and right-handed doors.

2. Install the Latch
- Insert the latch into the door edge. Ensure the deadbolt faces the correct direction (beveled edge towards the door frame).
- Secure the latch with the provided screws.
- Adjust the backset if necessary by twisting the latch mechanism to switch between 2-3/8 inches and 2-3/4 inches.
3. Install the Exterior Keypad Assembly
- Feed the cable from the exterior keypad through the door hole, under the latch.
- Align the exterior keypad with the door hole and ensure the deadbolt spindle passes through the latch mechanism.
4. Install the Interior Mounting Plate
- Route the cable from the exterior keypad through the rectangular opening in the interior mounting plate.
- Secure the interior mounting plate to the exterior keypad assembly using the long mounting screws.
5. Install the Interior Assembly
- Connect the cable from the exterior keypad to the port on the interior assembly.
- Align the interior assembly with the mounting plate, ensuring the thumb turn spindle engages with the latch mechanism.
- Secure the interior assembly to the mounting plate using the short screws.
6. Install Batteries
- Remove the battery cover on the interior assembly.
- Insert 4 new AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Replace the battery cover.
7. Test the Lock
Before closing the door, test the deadbolt operation using the thumb turn on the interior assembly and the key from the exterior. Ensure smooth movement.
Operation
Default Settings
- Master Code: The lock comes with a default master code. It is highly recommended to change this immediately after installation.
- Auto-Lock: Disabled by default.
Programming Codes
The lock supports up to 20 customizable user codes (4 to 10 digits).

- Change Master Code: Press the Program Button (located on the interior assembly) once. Enter the current Master Code, then press #. Enter the new Master Code (4-10 digits), then press #. Repeat the new Master Code, then press #.
- Add User Code: Press the Program Button once. Enter the Master Code, then press #. Press 1, then press #. Enter the new User Code (4-10 digits), then press #. Repeat the new User Code, then press #.
- Delete User Code: Press the Program Button once. Enter the Master Code, then press #. Press 2, then press #. Enter the User Code to delete, then press #.
- Add One-Time User Code: Press the Program Button once. Enter the Master Code, then press #. Press 3, then press #. Enter the new One-Time User Code, then press #. This code will expire after one use.
Locking and Unlocking
- To Unlock: Enter a valid User Code or Master Code on the keypad, then press #. The deadbolt will retract.
- To Lock (Manual): Press and hold any single button on the keypad for 2 seconds. The deadbolt will extend.
- To Lock (Auto-Lock): If Auto-Lock is enabled, the lock will automatically extend the deadbolt after a set delay (10-99 seconds) once the door is closed.

Advanced Features
- Auto-Lock Setting: To enable/disable or adjust the auto-lock timer (10-99 seconds), refer to the detailed programming instructions in the full PDF manual.
- Silent Mode: Mute audio indicators during locking and unlocking. This setting can be toggled via the programming sequence.
- Away Mode: Disables all user codes until the Master Code is entered on the keypad. This is useful when you are away for an extended period.
- Virtual Code: Enter random digits before or after your actual access code to confuse onlookers and enhance security. For example, if your code is 1234, you can enter 5678123490.
- Backlit Keypad: The keypad illuminates with a single touch, making it visible in low-light conditions.

Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The lock is powered by 4 AA alkaline batteries. A low battery indicator (flashing red lights) will alert you when batteries are getting low. Replace all four batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation.
- Remove the battery cover on the interior assembly.
- Remove all old batteries.
- Insert 4 new AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery cover.
Note: Using non-alkaline batteries or mixing old and new batteries may affect performance and battery life.
Cleaning
Clean the lock's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
