Akia Screens support FAQ
Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.
-
How do I clean my Akia Screens projector screen?
Clean matte white screen material gently with a soft microfiber cloth and mild soap diluted with water. Do not wipe up/down or in circles; wipe very gently from left to right only. Never use organic solvents like acetone or alcohol.
-
How do I synchronize the RF remote with my Akia motorized screen?
Unplug the screen from the power outlet and wait one minute. Press and hold the STOP button on the RF remote. While holding STOP, plug the screen back in. The screen will drop and retract twice to confirm synchronization, at which point you can release the STOP button.
-
Why does my new Akia screen have horizontal memory lines?
When pliable projection material is rolled up for storage, it may develop memory lines. To fix this, simply leave the screen in the deployed (down) position for a few days in a warm room (above 75°F). The material will stretch out and cure itself, and the lines should vanish.
-
Can I use a short-throw projector on a non-tensioned Akia screen?
It is not recommended. Using a short-throw projector on a non-tensioned screen will make any slight waves on the viewing surface highly evident and cause image distortion. Akia Screens recommends a tab-tensioned or fixed frame screen for short-throw projectors.
