3. Setup and Assembly

The Gotrax Dolphin electric bike is designed for easy assembly, with most of the work completed prior to shipping. Tools and clear instructions are provided in the box.

3.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Ensure all parts listed in the packing list are present.

3.2 Attaching the Front Wheel

Attach the front wheel to the fork, ensuring the disc brake rotor is correctly aligned with the caliper. Secure the wheel using the quick-release mechanism or axle nuts as per the detailed instructions.

3.3 Handlebar and Seat Adjustment

4. Operating Instructions

The Gotrax Dolphin offers diverse riding experiences with multiple modes and pedal-assist levels.

4.1 Powering On/Off and Display

To power on the bike, press and hold the power button on the handlebar control panel. The display will show battery level, speed, and pedal-assist level. To power off, press and hold the power button again.

4.2 Riding Modes

The bike features three riding modes:

  1. Pure Electric Mode: Engages the motor without pedaling, controlled by the throttle.
  2. Pedal-Assist Mode: Provides motor assistance while you pedal. Offers 5 adjustable levels of assistance.
  3. Normal Bike Mode: Functions as a traditional bicycle with no motor assistance.

4.3 Pedal-Assist Levels

Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the control panel to cycle through the 5 pedal-assist levels. Higher levels provide more motor assistance.

4.4 Boost Mode

To activate Boost Mode, press and hold the 'M' button for 2-3 seconds. This provides a 6 Km/h (3.7 mph) boost, reducing riding fatigue. Press any button to exit this mode.

4.5 Gear Shifting

The bike is equipped with a Shimano 7-speed system. Use the gear shifter on the right handlebar to change gears. Lower gears minimize strain on your feet, especially on inclines.
