- Handle: For easy carrying.
- Motor: The power unit of the pump.
- Switch: On/Off control.
- Power Cable: Connects to the electrical supply.
- Outlet: Where pumped water exits.
- Filling Port: For initial water filling to enable self-priming.
- Inlet: Where water enters the pump from the source.
- Drainage Screw: For emptying the pump.
5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper setup:
- Placement: Position the pump on a stable, level surface, protected from direct weather exposure. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Suction Hose Connection: Connect a suitable suction hose to the pump's inlet. Ensure all connections are airtight to prevent air leaks, which can affect priming. For optimal performance, use a hose with a non-return valve and a filter at the end submerged in the water source.
- Pressure Hose Connection: Connect the pressure hose to the pump's outlet.
- Filling the Pump: Before initial use, remove the filling port cap and completely fill the pump housing with clean water. This is crucial for the self-priming function. Replace the cap securely.
- Electrical Connection: Connect the power cable to a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the pump's requirements.

6. Operating Instructions
To operate the Wiltec Garden Pump:
- Ensure the pump is properly set up and filled with water as described in Section 5.
- Submerge the end of the suction hose into the water source.
- Turn on the pump using the accessible on/off switch. The pump will begin to draw water.
- Monitor the water flow. If no water is pumped after a short period, switch off the pump, check connections for air leaks, and ensure the pump housing is adequately filled with water.
- After use, switch off the pump.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pump:
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the pump with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh detergents.
- Filter Check: If your suction hose has a filter, inspect and clean it regularly to prevent blockages.
- Winter Storage: Before the first frost, completely drain all water from the pump. Remove the drainage screw (see Figure 5) and allow all water to escape. Store the pump in a frost-free environment.
- Connections: Regularly check all hose connections for leaks and ensure they are securely fastened.

8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your pump, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start. | No power supply; faulty switch; motor overload. | Check power connection; inspect switch; allow motor to cool down. |
| Pump runs but does not draw water. | Air in suction line; pump not filled with water; suction hose not submerged; clogged filter. | Check for airtight connections; fill pump housing with water; ensure suction hose is fully submerged; clean filter. |
| Reduced water flow. | Partial blockage in suction or pressure line; worn impeller; air leaks. | Check and clear hoses; inspect impeller (if accessible); check all connections for air leaks. |
| Pump is noisy. | Air in pump; foreign object in impeller; motor bearing issue. | Bleed air from pump; check for and remove foreign objects; contact service if motor bearing is suspected. |
If problems persist, contact Wiltec customer support.
