Setup and Installation
- Choose Location: Select a suitable outdoor location for mounting. Ensure the area is clear of obstructions and the PIR sensor has an unobstructed view of the detection zone. The light is designed for wall mounting.
- Disconnect Power: Before starting any electrical work, ensure the main power supply to the installation area is switched off at the circuit breaker.
- Mounting Bracket: The included mounting bracket features a 20-degree angled edge for optimal positioning. Use appropriate screws and wall plugs (not always included) to securely attach the bracket to the wall.
- Attach Light Fixture: Secure the floodlight to the mounted bracket. Ensure it is firmly attached and can be adjusted to the desired angle.
- Electrical Connection: Connect the 50 cm power cable to your 240V AC electrical supply. Ensure all connections are waterproof and comply with local electrical codes. Use a suitable junction box if necessary.
- Adjust Sensor: Once installed, you can adjust the PIR sensor's angle to cover the desired detection area.
- Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are secure, restore power to the circuit.
Operating Instructions
The Energizer LED Security Light operates automatically based on its integrated PIR motion sensor and light level detection.
PIR Sensor Settings:
The PIR sensor typically has adjustable controls for:
- Sensitivity (SENS): Controls the detection range of the motion sensor. Adjust to prevent unwanted activations from small animals or distant movements.
- Time (TIME): Sets the duration the light remains on after motion is detected.
- Lux (LUX): Determines the ambient light level at which the sensor becomes active. For example, set to activate only when it's dark.
Use the provided adjustment tool to carefully turn the dials on the PIR sensor to your desired settings. Test the settings after adjustment to ensure optimal performance.
Note: Initial testing may require several adjustments to find the ideal settings for your specific environment.
Maintenance
The Energizer LED Security Light is designed for long-term, low-maintenance operation.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the LED panel and PIR sensor lens with a soft, damp cloth to ensure optimal light output and sensor performance. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- LED Lifespan: The integrated LED has a long lifespan, estimated at 25 years based on 25,000 hours of use (approximately 2.7 hours per day). The LED is not user-replaceable.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cable and housing for any signs of damage. If damage is found, disconnect power immediately and consult a qualified electrician.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your Energizer LED Security Light, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on. | No power supply. LUX setting too high (daylight). Sensor faulty. | Check power connection and circuit breaker. Adjust LUX setting to a lower level or test at night. Contact customer support. |
| Light stays on continuously. | TIME setting too long. Constant motion in detection zone. Sensor faulty. | Adjust TIME setting to a shorter duration. Reposition sensor or clear obstructions. Contact customer support. |
| Light activates without apparent motion. | SENS setting too high. Heat sources (e.g., exhaust vents, animals) in detection zone. Wind moving objects. | Reduce SENS setting. Reposition sensor or remove heat sources. Adjust sensor angle. |
| Light flashes on and off. | Unstable power supply. Sensor interference. | Check electrical connections. Ensure no strong electromagnetic fields nearby. |
