Setup Guide

Step 1: Connect Hardware

1. Power Connection: Connect the provided USB power cable to the DC 5V port on the receiver and plug the other end into a 5V/1A USB power adapter (not included, typically a phone charger) or a powered USB port. The LED indicator on the receiver will illuminate.
2. Audio Output: Connect the 3.5mm audio cable from the "OUT" port on the receiver to the audio input of your speaker system or amplifier.
3. Optional Wired Audio Input: If you wish to connect a wired audio source (e.g., PC, phone) directly to the receiver, use a 3.5mm audio cable from your source to the "IN" port on the receiver. Note: Wired input has lower priority than Wi-Fi audio input.
4. Optional Wired Network Connection: For a stable network connection, you can connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the Ethernet port on the receiver.

Step 2: Network Connection (Wi-Fi)

The receiver must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your streaming device (smartphone, tablet, etc.).

1. Initial Power-On: After connecting power, the receiver will broadcast its own Wi-Fi network (e.g., "PyleWiFi_XXXX").
2. Connect Your Device: On your smartphone or tablet, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the "PyleWiFi_XXXX" network.
3. Open Web Browser: Once connected, open a web browser on your device and navigate to the IP address provided in the quick start guide (usually 10.10.10.254). This will open the receiver's configuration page.
4. Select Home Wi-Fi: On the configuration page, select your home Wi-Fi network from the list and enter its password. The receiver will then connect to your home network.
5. Reconnect Your Device: Reconnect your smartphone or tablet to your home Wi-Fi network. Both the receiver and your streaming device should now be on the same network.
6. WPS Button (Alternative): If your router supports WPS, you can press the WPS button on the receiver and then on your router to establish a connection without manual configuration.

Step 3: Install and Configure App

To control the receiver and access advanced features, download the recommended app:

• For iOS Devices: Use Apple AirPlay directly from your music app or download a compatible DLNA app like Spotify or BubbleUpnp.
• For Android Devices: Search for "Smartsonix" in the Google Play Store or use a compatible DLNA app like Spotify or BubbleUpnp.
• For Windows: Windows Media Player 12 is supported.

Once the app is installed, ensure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Pyle receiver. The app should automatically detect the receiver, allowing you to select it as an audio output device.

Operating Instructions

Streaming Audio

1. Ensure the Pyle PWFI23 receiver is powered on and connected to your Wi-Fi network.
2. Open your preferred music streaming application (e.g., Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora) on your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
3. Select the audio output option within your app. For iOS, this is typically the AirPlay icon. For Android, it will be within the Smartsonix app or a DLNA casting option.
4. Choose "PyleWiFi_XXXX" (or the custom name you assigned) from the list of available devices.
5. Begin playing your music. Audio will now stream wirelessly to your connected speaker system.

Multi-Room Audio

The Pyle PWFI23 supports multi-room audio setups when used with compatible applications like Smartsonix. To achieve synchronized audio across multiple rooms:

• Acquire additional Pyle PWFI23 receivers for each desired audio zone.
• Set up each receiver on the same Wi-Fi network as described in the "Network Connection" section.
• Use the Smartsonix app (or another compatible multi-room audio app) to group the receivers and control playback across all zones simultaneously.

Troubleshooting

• No Power: Ensure the USB power cable is securely connected and the power adapter is functioning. The LED indicator should be lit.
• No Sound:
  • Verify the 3.5mm audio cable is correctly connected from the receiver's "OUT" port to your speaker's input.
  • Check the volume levels on both your streaming device and your speaker system.
  • Ensure the correct audio output (PyleWiFi_XXXX) is selected on your streaming device.
• Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi:
  • Confirm that your streaming device and the receiver are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Double-check the Wi-Fi password entered during setup.
  • Try restarting both the receiver and your Wi-Fi router.
  • Use the WPS button method if available on your router.
• Intermittent Audio/Connection Drops:
  • Ensure the receiver is within a reasonable range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Minimize interference from other wireless devices.
  • Consider using a wired Ethernet connection for improved stability.
• Resetting the Device: If issues persist, press and hold the WPS/Reset button on the receiver for approximately 5-10 seconds until the LED indicator flashes, then release. This will restore factory settings.
