3. Setup
Battery Installation:
The Rossmax TG100 Thermometer comes with a pre-installed LR44 battery. Before first use, ensure the battery compartment is securely closed. If the display does not turn on or shows a low battery indicator, replace the battery as described in the "Maintenance and Care" section.
Initial Power-On:
- Press the power button (usually located near the display) to turn on the thermometer.
- A short beep will sound, and the display will briefly show all segments, followed by the last measured temperature.
- The device will then display "Lo" and a flashing "°C" or "°F", indicating it is ready for measurement.
4. Operating Instructions
Taking a Temperature Measurement:
- Clean the Probe: Before and after each use, clean the thermometer probe with alcohol or soap and water.
- Power On: Press the power button. The thermometer will display the last reading and then "Lo" with a flashing unit symbol.
- Positioning:
- Oral Use: Place the probe tip under the tongue, as close to the heat pocket as possible. Keep the mouth closed.
- Underarm (Axillary) Use: Place the probe tip in the center of the armpit. Hold the arm firmly against the body.
- Measurement: Keep the thermometer in position until a series of beeps indicates the measurement is complete (approximately 60 seconds). The display will show the peak temperature.
- Read the Result: Read the temperature displayed on the LCD screen.
- Power Off: Press the power button to turn off the thermometer, or it will automatically shut off after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity.
Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F):
To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, ensure the thermometer is off. Press and hold the power button for approximately 3 seconds until the unit changes on the display. Release the button, and the new unit will be set for future measurements.

5. Maintenance and Care
Cleaning the Thermometer:
- Wipe the probe tip with a soft cloth moistened with 70% isopropyl alcohol or wash with cold soapy water.
- Do not immerse the entire thermometer in water or any cleaning solution.
- Allow the thermometer to air dry completely before storing.
Battery Replacement:
When the low battery symbol appears on the display, the battery needs to be replaced. The thermometer uses one LR44 (or equivalent) button cell battery.
- Gently slide off the battery cover located at the end of the thermometer.
- Carefully remove the old battery using a non-metallic tool.
- Insert a new LR44 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Replace the battery cover securely.
- Dispose of the old battery according to local regulations.
Storage:
- Store the thermometer in its protective case when not in use.
- Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid dropping the thermometer or subjecting it to strong impacts.
