3. Setup & Installation
3.1 Wiring and Connection Diagram
Follow these steps to connect your NVR system:
- Power on the NVR with the provided DC 48~52V power adapter.
- Connect your NVR to your router using an Ethernet cable (UP LINK port).
- Connect the NVR to a monitor via VGA or HDMI cable.
- Connect the PoE Cameras to the NVR using PoE Ethernet cables (PoE 1-8 ports).
- Switch on the NVR and turn on the monitor.
- If your monitor lacks a speaker, connect external speakers to the 3.5mm "AUDIO OUT" port for sound.

3.2 Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Installation
The NVR requires a hard disk for recording and playback. Ensure the power is off before installation.
- Remove the NVR case.
- Plug in the SATA cable to the HDD and NVR.
- Screw the HDD to the bottom of the NVR case.
- Install the case back.
Note: Please use a specialized monitoring hard drive for optimal performance and longevity. The NVR supports 3.5" or 2.5" SATA hard disks. The hard disk should be formatted before its first use. It will automatically overwrite older videos when full if configured.

3.3 Camera Installation Tips
To ensure accurate surveillance, avoid common installation mistakes:
- Wrong Viewing Angles: Do not install cameras too close to a wall, as IR light reflection can obscure night vision. Adjust the camera lens direction to be away from walls.
- Close Object Reflects: Objects too close to the camera lens can reflect IR light. Move objects away or change the camera's position.
- Close Wire Cable Reflects: Ensure power or Ethernet cables are not too close to the camera lens to prevent IR light reflection. Fix cables on the back of the camera.
4. System Configuration

9. Troubleshooting
- Camera shows pink or purple picture: Navigate to IPC param. > Image Set and click 'IR Swap' to correct the color balance.
- NVR not detecting HDD: Check the physical connection of the HDD. Ensure the HDD is properly installed and formatted. If the issue persists, check 'Abnormality Settings' for 'No Storage' or 'Storage Device Error' alerts.
- Network connection issues: In the 'Network' settings, enable DHCP to resolve IP address conflicts. If using a static IP, ensure all network parameters are correctly entered.
- Email setup not working: Verify that your network connection is active. For Gmail, ensure 2-Step Verification is enabled and you are using a 16-digit app password, not your regular Gmail password.
- No video displayed after initial setup: Ensure all cables (power, network, video output) are securely connected. Check the monitor input source.
10. User Tips
- Hard Drive Selection: For continuous and long-term recording, always use a specialized surveillance-grade hard drive.
- HDD Installation Safety: Always ensure the NVR is powered off before installing or removing the hard drive to prevent damage.
- Initial HDD Setup: Format the hard drive through the NVR's menu before its first use to ensure proper recording functionality.
- Efficient Recording: Utilize H.265 compression for clearer video, reduced file sizes (40-50% less than H.264), and faster loading/playback speeds.
- Minimize False Alarms: When configuring intelligent alerts, activate the 'Human Detect' feature to significantly reduce false alarms triggered by pets, vehicles, or environmental factors.
- App Password Security: If using a 16-digit app password for email notifications, write it down immediately after generation as it cannot be retrieved later.
- Remote Control: The NVR comes with a remote control for flexible and convenient operation.
