Quick Start Guide: HOBO® MX1104 & MX1105 Data Loggers

This guide provides essential steps to get started with your HOBO Analog/Temp/RH/Light (MX1104) and 4-Channel Analog (MX1105) data loggers.

Getting Started with HOBOconnect

  1. Download HOBOconnect: Obtain the HOBOconnect app from the App Store® or Google Play™ for your phone or tablet. For Windows® computers, download it from www.onsetcomp.com/products/software/hoboconnect.

  2. Open the App: Launch the HOBOconnect app. Enable Bluetooth® in your device settings if prompted.

  3. Install External Sensors: Connect any external self-describing sensors. To do this, insert the sensor plug into an available analog sensor port on the logger. Turn the plug one-quarter clockwise. Ensure the flat part of the plug faces upwards for proper installation. This applies to all external analog sensors.

  4. Wake the Logger: Press either button on the logger to activate it.

  5. Connect to the Logger: In the HOBOconnect app, tap 'Devices'. Then, tap the logger's tile to connect. If you have multiple loggers, pressing the top button on the logger may bring it to the top of the list. If the logger is not found, ensure it is within Bluetooth range of your device.

  6. Configure and Start Logging:

    • Once connected, tap 'Configure & Start' to set up the logger.
    • Select your desired logger settings, including configurations for any external analog sensors. Ensure all channels you intend to log are enabled.
    • Tap 'Start' to save the settings to the logger. The logger will begin recording data based on your selected configuration. If you configured the logger to start with a button push, press the start button on the logger.

Deployment and Data Download

  1. Deploy the Logger: Place the logger in your desired monitoring location. Insert one of the included plugs into any empty ports. For detailed deployment guidelines, refer to the full product manual available at www.onsetcomp.com/resources/documentation/23968-mx1104-and-mx1105-manual.

  2. Download Data: In the HOBOconnect app, tap 'Devices', connect to your logger, and then tap 'Download Data'. After the download completes, you can choose to export and share the data file, or view your files by tapping 'Data' at the bottom of the screen.

For comprehensive specifications and information about your logger, scan the QR code (if applicable) or visit www.onsetcomp.com/support/manuals/23968-mx1104-and-mx1105-manual.
