Vehicle Weight and Towing Specifications
Mass (Weight)
Approximate curb weight of the vehicle to EEC standards (with a full fuel tank):
- Vehicles with gasoline engines: 2590 – 2680 kg (5710 – 5908 lbs)
- Vehicles with diesel engines: 2710 kg (5975 lbs)
Gross vehicle weight:
- Vehicles with gasoline engines: 3100 kg (6834 lbs)
- Vehicles with diesel engines: 3200 kg (7055 lbs)
Maximum load on the front axle: 1530 kg (3373 lbs)
Maximum load on the rear axle: 1850 kg (4079 lbs)
Maximum load on the roof rails: 100 kg (220 lbs)
Note: Axle loads are not cumulative; the gross vehicle weight is not calculated by adding the front and rear axle loads. Do not exceed the maximum load for each axle or the gross vehicle weight (except when towing a trailer).
Note: The weight of Land Rover's own longitudinal and transverse roof rails is already included in the calculation. However, if alternative roof rack systems are used, the weight of the rack must be included in the load calculation.
Towing
Maximum Trailer Weight:
On Roads | Off-Road | |
---|---|---|
Trailers without brakes | 750 kg (1653 lbs) | 750 kg (1653 lbs) |
Trailers with inertia brakes | 3500 kg (7716 lbs) | 1000 kg (2204 lbs) |
Gross Train Weight:
On Roads | Off-Road | |
---|---|---|
Vehicles with gasoline engines | 6600 kg (14550 lbs) | - |
Vehicles with diesel engines | 6700 kg (14771 lbs) | - |
Maximum Towing Hitch Load:
Australia | Other Markets | |
---|---|---|
Vehicles with naturally aspirated V8 gasoline engines (NA) | 350 kg (772 lbs) | 150 kg (330 lbs) |
Vehicles with supercharged V8 gasoline engines (SC) | 350 kg (772 lbs) | 140 kg (309 lbs) |
Vehicles with V8 diesel engines | 350 kg (772 lbs) | 150 kg (330 lbs) |
Note: To improve stability when loading up to the maximum trailer weight, it is recommended to distribute the load in the trailer so that the recommended towing hitch load is achieved. See the TOWING section, page 294.
Note: Gross train weight (if using a trailer with inertia brakes) = gross vehicle weight + maximum trailer weight. The gross vehicle weight used for calculating the gross train weight includes the legally prescribed additional reserve of 100 kg (220 lbs) (Europe only).
Note: The recommended towing hitch load (140 kg/309 lbs or 150 kg/330 lbs) can be increased to the full load of 250 kg (550 lbs) (only if using a trailer with inertia brakes). However, the vehicle's payload must be reduced by at least the same amount to avoid exceeding the gross vehicle weight and the rear axle load. This rule does not apply to the Australian market.
Note: When the vehicle is towing a trailer, the gross vehicle weight can be increased to a maximum of 3150 kg (6945 lbs) for gasoline engine variants or 3250 kg (7165 lbs) for diesel engine variants. The rear axle load can be increased to a maximum of 2050 kg (4519 lbs) if the vehicle speed does not exceed 100 km/h (60 mph) (or 80 km/h (50 mph) if a temporary spare wheel is fitted).
