Ecler MPAGE4 4-Zone Paging Station
User Manual
Important Preliminary Notes
The lightning symbol with an arrow inside an equilateral triangle is intended to warn the user of non-isolated "dangerous voltage" within the product enclosure, which may be sufficient to cause an electric shock to a person.
The exclamation mark in an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance instructions in the accompanying literature.
WARNING (if applicable): Connections marked with the symbol "⚡" may pose a risk of electric shock. External wiring connected to the terminals must be installed by qualified personnel or with pre-assembled cables.
WARNING: Due to the risk of fire and electric shock, never expose the unit to rain or moisture.
WARNING: A Class I device must be connected to a grounded socket.
Important Safety Instructions
- Read this manual carefully.
- Keep this manual in a safe place.
- Observe all warning notices.
- Follow all instructions.
- Never use the device near water.
- Clean the device only with a dry cloth.
- Do not block the ventilation openings. Install the device according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Do not install the device near heat sources such as radiators, stoves, or other devices that generate heat, including amplifiers.
- Never disable the protective function of a polarized or grounded power cord. A polarized cable has two pins, one wider than the other. A grounded plug has two pins and a ground contact. This third pin is for your safety. If the supplied cable does not fit your socket, please contact an electrician to replace the obsolete socket.
- Ensure that the power cord is not pinched, especially in the area of the plugs, sockets, and where the cable exits the device.
- Use only accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
- Disconnect the device from the mains during thunderstorms or when it will not be used for an extended period.
- Always contact qualified customer service for necessary repairs. Repair is required if the device does not function normally or has been damaged for any reason, e.g., damage to the cable or plug, if liquids or foreign objects have entered the device, or if the device has been exposed to rain or dropped.
- Disconnecting from the power supply: By switching off with the POWER switch, all functions and indicators of the device are deactivated. However, for a complete disconnection from the mains, the power cord must be pulled from its socket. This must always be easily accessible.
- The device must be connected via the power supply cable to a protective contact socket.
- Part of the product labeling is located on the base.
- This device must not be exposed to any dripping or splashing water; no containers containing liquids, such as jugs, may be placed on it.
WARNING: This product must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste under any circumstances. Please dispose of it at the nearest collection point for electrical and electronic waste.
NEEC AUDIO BARCELONA, S.L. assumes no responsibility for damages that may be caused to persons, animals, or objects due to non-compliance with the above warnings.

Introduction
The MPAGE4 is a paging station for real-time voice announcements ("paging"), compatible with the Ecler DAM614 digital audio matrix. Thanks to its keypad, LED indicators, and gooseneck microphone, it allows the selection of target zones for voice announcements, capturing the voice announcement, and transmitting it in real-time to the target zones.
The essential features of the MPAGE4 are:
- 4 Zone selection buttons (ZONE 1 to ZONE 4) (3)
- 1 Selection button for all 4 zones simultaneously (ALL) (4)
- 1 Paging activation button (PAGE) (1)
- 6 LED status indicators (one per button)
- Gooseneck microphone (5)
- Configurable chime melody (6)
- RJ-45 connector for connection with a CAT5 standard cable to the PAGER connector of the DAM614 (7)
Installation and Connection
The following steps are necessary for the installation of an MPAGE4:
- Installation of the cable connection using a CAT5 standard cable between the BASE connector of the MPAGE4 (7) and the PAGER connector on the rear panel of the DAM614.
RJ-45 Connector Pinout
Pin | Contact | Signal | |
1 | 1 | White/Orange | MIC+ |
2 | 2 | Orange | MIC- |
3 | 3 | White/Green | GND |
4 | 4 | Blue | VCC (+10 V) |
5 | 5 | White/Blue | ZONE 1 |
6 | 6 | Green | ZONE 2 |
7 | 7 | White/Brown | ZONE 3 |
8 | 8 | Brown | ZONE 4 |
This cable is used for transmitting control signals for zone selection, as well as for transmitting the audio signal from the gooseneck microphone and the chime melody – when activated. The phantom power required by the MPAGE4 for operation is also supplied via the same cable from the DAM614.

Operation
After connecting the MPAGE4 to the DAM614, announcements can be transmitted as follows:
- Zone selection for the announcement by:
- Pressing the desired ZONE 1 to ZONE 4 buttons (3) (their LEDs light up as long as the respective zone is selected)
- Or the ALL button (4), which selects all 4 zones (its LED lights up as long as the ALL selection is active). The zone buttons have a mechanical latching mechanism (they are latched with the first press and released with a subsequent press).
- During the voice announcement using the integrated gooseneck microphone, press and hold the PAGE button (1) (button without mechanical latching, "push to talk" type). As long as the button is pressed (announcement), the button's LED (2) lights up.
Note: If the chime melody is activated, wait a few seconds (3-4 seconds) between pressing the PAGE button and the start of the voice announcement so that the voice announcement is not overlaid by the chime melody.
3. If necessary, cancel the selection of individual zones (ZONE 1 to 4) or all zones (ALL) by pressing the respective button again and check that the LEDs are off. If the selection is not canceled, the next announcement will be transmitted to the currently active zones of the previous announcement.
With the DAM614, it is also possible to set permanently selected zones so that they always receive voice messages sent by the MPAGE4 device, regardless of whether they were selected via the buttons or not.
To set this up, set the ZONE switch on the front panel of the DAM614 to the ON position for the desired zone(s) and then press the button for input 6. The corresponding LED will light up blue, indicating that the selected zone has been permanently activated as a PAGER.
Repeat this process for each zone you wish to activate permanently.
