Installation Instructions
The installation process involves attaching the LED strip to the awning rail and connecting it to the vehicle's power supply. Two installation options are generally provided, depending on the awning model.
General Safety Precautions:
- Always disconnect the negative terminal from the vehicle's battery before installation.
- Work without power.
- Connect the power cable to the fuse box or terminal board, not directly to the battery.
- Use the correct fuse rating as per EN 1648-1 and EN 1648-2.
- Ensure cable clamps are suitable for the power cable diameter.
- It is strictly forbidden to drive with the LED lights on.
- Avoid prolonged viewing of the LED strip at close proximity.
Option 1: Installation Steps
- Step 1: Ensure the awning is extended. Attach mounting clips (B) to the awning's internal rail by sliding them into place. Arrows indicate the direction of attachment.
- Step 2: Mount the LED strip housing onto the attached clips (B, C, D). Route the cables neatly along the awning structure.
- Step 3: Secure any necessary support brackets using screws (H).
- Step 4: Attach the LED strip assembly to the awning rail using the provided clips (B, C, D). Connect the power cable (F) to the LED strip.
- Step 5: Insert the LED strip into its housing or channel, ensuring it is securely seated. Arrows indicate the sliding motion.
- Step 6: Route and secure all cables along the awning structure, ensuring they are tidy and protected.
- Step 7: Detail view of cable management and securing methods.
- Step 8: Connect the power cable (F) and the inline switch/controller (G) to the LED strip.
- Step 9: Locate and operate the ON/OFF switch.
Option 2: Installation Steps
- Step 1: Ensure the awning is extended.
- Step 2: Identify the ideal position for the electrical terminals (max. 12 Volt) in the central area of the awning, preferably near the existing fixing kit for the rafter. The diagram indicates a maximum voltage of 12V.
- Step 3: Attach mounting clips (B, E) to the awning rail.
- Step 4A/4B: Calculate the optimal position to drill a hole in the awning casing to route the power cable, ensuring the cables are hidden. A silicone sealant may be used for protection. Arrows indicate drilling and cable routing.
General Cable Routing and Power Connection:
- Carefully route the power cable (F) from the LED strip to the vehicle's power source.
- Hide cables as much as possible for a clean installation.
- Connect the inline switch (G) to the power cable and LED strip as required.
- Ensure the final connection is secure and protected from the elements.
Safety Instructions
Failure to observe these instructions and local driving laws may cause severe harm or damage. The product is designed exclusively for recreational vehicles, not domestic environments. Always disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal before installation. Use appropriate fuses and cable clamps. Avoid driving with lights on. Do not stare directly at the LED strip for prolonged periods. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages resulting from improper installation, mechanical influences, overvoltage, or unauthorized alterations.
