USING THE REMOTE

Familiarize yourself with the VIZIO remote control and its functions:

  • Power/Standby: Turns the TV on or off.
  • Input (Specific): Changes the input device. Press the button corresponding to the desired input.
  • Info: Displays the Info Window.
  • Arrow: Navigates the on-screen menu and episode guide.
  • OK: Displays the on-screen menu or selects a highlighted menu option.
  • Mute: Turns the TV's audio off or on.
  • Volume Up/Down: Increases or decreases the TV's audio volume.
  • Channel Up/Down: Changes the TV channel.
  • Last: Returns to the previously viewed channel.
  • Number Pad: Manually enters a channel number.
  • Input: Changes the input device.
  • Dash (-): Used with the number pad to enter digital sub-channels (e.g., 18-4).
  • A/V Controls: Controls USB slideshow playback.
  • Exit: Closes the on-screen menu.

INSTALLING THE BASE

Follow these steps to attach the TV stand:

Step 1

Place the TV screen-down on a clean, flat, and soft surface (like carpet or a blanket) to prevent scratches.

Step 2

Align the base with the stand neck. Gently push the base onto the neck. Ensure the arrow on the bottom of the stand points towards the front of the screen. If it doesn't fit, it might be facing backwards.

Step 3

Turn the attached thumbscrew until it is completely tightened. Fold down the thumbscrew tab so it lies flat against the bottom of the base.

Step 4

Carefully move the TV with the attached stand into an upright position and place it on a flat, level, and stable surface.

FIRST-TIME SETUP

Complete the initial setup process for your TV:

Step 1: Remote Setup

Remove the battery cover by pressing and sliding it away from the remote. Insert the batteries, ensuring the '+' and '-' symbols on the batteries match those inside the compartment. Replace the cover.

Step 2: Power Connection

Connect the power adapter/cord to the TV, then plug the TV's power cable into an electrical outlet. (The appearance of the adapter/power cord may vary.)

Step 3: Signal Connection

Connect your antenna or cable/satellite box to the coaxial port on the back of the TV.

Step 4: Power On and Initial Screen

Turn the TV on using the Power/Standby button on the remote. The Setup App will be displayed. Press the Right Arrow button (▶️) on the remote to proceed to the next screen.

Step 5: Language Selection

Use the Up/Down Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight your preferred language (English, Español, Français). Press the Right Arrow (▶️) to continue.

Step 6: Input Location

Use the Up/Down Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight your input location (Home or Retail). Press the Right Arrow (▶️) to continue.

Step 7: Input Source Selection

If the TV is connected to an external antenna, select Antenna, then press Right Arrow (▶️). If the TV is connected to a cable service without a set-top box, select Cable, then press Right Arrow (▶️). If the TV is connected to a cable or satellite set-top box, press the Exit button on the remote, then select the input to which your set-top box is connected (e.g., HDMI, COMP, AV).

Step 8: Channel Scan

Press the Up/Down Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight Scan. Press the Right Arrow (▶️) to begin the channel scan. Wait for the scan to finish. The first-time setup is now complete.

CONNECTING YOUR DEVICES

To enjoy the best picture and sound, connect your external devices to your VIZIO TV.

Connection Options

Ensure your device has one of the following ports. Turn both your device and the TV off before connecting.

HDMI: For the best high-resolution picture and sound.

Component: For good quality video connection.

Composite AV: For standard video connection.

Connect your devices using the chart below, which shows common connections. For additional options, refer to the "Connecting Your Devices" section in the user manual.

CHOOSE ONE:

High Speed HDMI Cable: Connects HDMI out on device to HDMI in on TV.

OR

Component Video Cable & Audio Cable: Connects Component video and Audio (L/R) out on device to Component video and Audio (L/R) in on TV.

OR

Composite AV Cable: Connects Video and Audio (L/R) out on device to AV in on TV.

Please have your VIZIO model number, serial number, and date of purchase available before calling.

There is no power.

  • Ensure the power cord is securely connected to the AC socket on the TV and a working electrical outlet.
  • Press the Power/Standby button on the remote or on the right side of the TV.
  • Try plugging the power cord into a different electrical outlet.

There is a picture, but there is no sound.

  • Press the Volume Up button on the remote or on the right side of the TV.
  • Press the MUTE button on the remote to ensure Mute is off.
  • In the Audio menu, ensure TV Speakers is set to On.

The picture quality seems low.

  • View high-definition (HD) programs when possible.
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected.

I cannot return to the Setup App.

  • The on-screen menu has guided setup. Press MENU, then select Help > Start Setup Wizard. Select Yes.

There are black/gray bars on the top/bottom/sides of the picture.

  • Set the TV to Wide or Zoom Mode. Press MENU, then select Wide. Highlight Wide or Zoom and press OK.
  • Adjust the video settings of your external device (Blu-ray™ or DVD player).
  • If using the RGB (computer) input, ensure you are using a supported desktop resolution.
  • Some television channels add black bars to the picture.

The TV does not respond when I press buttons on the remote control.

  • Insert new batteries into the remote.
  • Point the remote directly at the TV's sensor.
  • Ensure nothing is blocking the TV's sensor (located on the front of the TV, in the lower right corner).

The TV displays "No Signal"

  • Ensure your connected devices are turned on.
  • Press the INPUT button on the remote and select the input to which your device is connected (HDMI, Composite, etc).
  • If connected to a cable/satellite service with a set-top box via coaxial cable, press the TV button on the remote, then use the Number Pad to change the channel to 3 or 4.

The TV displays "Please Scan Channels!"

  • Ensure your antenna or cable/satellite box is connected to the TV.
  • Select the input to which your antenna or cable/satellite box is connected.
  • Perform a channel scan. Press MENU, then select TV > Channels > Scan Channels > On.
