Installing the Monitor Stand

For Optix G271C/G321C:

  1. Keep the monitor in its protective packaging. Align the stand bracket with the groove on the monitor.
  2. Secure the stand bracket with screws.
  3. Attach the base to the stand and tighten the base screw to secure it.
  4. Before setting the monitor upright, ensure the stand structure is correctly installed.

For Optix G271CQP/G321CQP:

  1. Keep the monitor in its protective packaging. Align the stand bracket with the groove on the monitor.
  2. Secure the stand bracket with screws.
  3. Attach the base to the stand and tighten the base screw to secure it.
  4. Before setting the monitor upright, ensure the stand structure is correctly installed.

Important Installation Notes:

  • If necessary, remove the screws from the monitor groove before installing the stand.
  • Place the monitor on a soft, protected surface to avoid scratching the display panel.
  • Do not use sharp objects on the panel.
  • The stand bracket installation groove can also be used for wall mounting. Consult your distributor for the correct wall mounting kit.

Adjusting the Monitor

This monitor is designed for viewing comfort with adjustable capabilities.

Important Adjustment Notes:

  • Avoid touching the display panel while adjusting the monitor.
  • Slightly tilt the monitor backward before rotating.

Adjustment Ranges:

  • Tilt: -5° to 20°
  • Swivel (G271CQP/G321CQP): 30° left/right
  • Height Adjustment (G271CQP/G321CQP): 0 to 90 mm

3. Monitor Overview

Front Panel Controls

  • 1. OSD Menu Key: Used to access and navigate the On-Screen Display menu.
  • 2. Power Button / Power LED: Turns the monitor on/off. The LED indicates the power status: solid green when powered on, orange when no signal is detected, and orange in standby mode.

Rear Panel Ports and Features

  • 3. Kensington Lock: Security slot for a Kensington lock.
  • 4. HDMI Port: Connects to devices via HDMI cable.
  • 5. DisplayPort: Connects to devices via DisplayPort cable.
  • 6. Headphone Jack: For connecting headphones.

4. Connecting the Monitor to a PC

For Optix G271C/G321C

  1. Turn off your computer.
  2. Connect the video cable from the monitor to your computer.
  3. Connect the power cord to the monitor's power jack. [Diagram A]
  4. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet. [Diagram B]
  5. Turn on the monitor. [Diagram C]
  6. Turn on your computer; the monitor will automatically detect the signal source.

For Optix G271CQP/G321CQP

  1. Turn off your computer.
  2. Connect the video cable from the monitor to your computer.
  3. Assemble the power adapter and power cord. [Diagram A]
  4. Connect the power adapter to the monitor's power jack. [Diagram B]
  5. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet. [Diagram C]
  6. Turn on the monitor. [Diagram D]
  7. Turn on your computer; the monitor will automatically detect the signal source.

5. OSD Setup and Menu Navigation

OSD Menu Keys

The monitor is equipped with OSD buttons to control the on-screen menu (OSD).

  • M Key: When OSD is off: Activates the Main Menu. When OSD is on: Enters a submenu.
  • Navigation Keys (Arrows): When OSD is off: Accesses Game Mode (Game Mode), Screen Assistance (Screen Assistance), Input Source (Input Source). When OSD is on: Navigates through menu items and function options.
  • E Key: When OSD is on: Confirms selection or setting. Navigates through menu items and function options. Adjusts function values. Confirms selection. Exits the current menu.

Gaming Menu Options

Night Vision (Night Vision) OFF (DISABLE) This function optimizes background brightness and is recommended for FPS games.
Normal (Normal) / Strong (Strong) / Strongest (Strongest) / A.I. This function optimizes background brightness and is recommended for FPS games.
Response Time (Response Time) Normal (Normal) Response time will be inactive, but MPRT will be activated.
Fast (Fast) Response time will be inactive, but MPRT will be activated.
Fastest (Fastest) Response time will be inactive, but MPRT will be activated.
MPRT (Motion Picture Response Time) OFF (DISABLE) When MPRT (Motion Picture Response Time) is activated, Brightness cannot be activated and will be grayed out. HDCR and MPRT cannot work simultaneously.
ON (ENABLE) When MPRT (Motion Picture Response Time) is activated, Brightness cannot be activated and will be grayed out. HDCR and MPRT cannot work simultaneously. Response time will be inactive, but MPRT will be activated. MPRT is available when the refresh rate is above 85 Hz. It is recommended to turn off MPRT when FreeSync Premium is set to ON.
Zero Latency (Zero Latency) (G271CQP/G321CQP) OFF (DISABLE) When FreeSync Premium is activated, Zero Latency is set to ON.
ON (ENABLE) When FreeSync Premium is activated, Zero Latency is set to ON.

Refresh Rate

Alarm Clock (Alarm Clock) OFF (DISABLE) After setting the time, press E key to activate the timer.
ON (ENABLE) After setting the time, press E key to activate the timer. You can manually reset the preset alarm after a power loss and restoration of AC power.

Image Menu Options

Low Blue Light (Low Blue Light) OFF (DISABLE) / ON (ENABLE) Low Blue Light protects your eyes from blue light. Enabling Low Blue Light adjusts the screen's color temperature to a warmer, more yellowish hue. When Pro Mode is set to Anti-Blue, Low Blue Light must be set. This monitor has low blue light that reduces blue light emission without changing OSD settings.
HDCR OFF (DISABLE) / ON (ENABLE) HDCR enhances image quality by increasing contrast. When HDCR is ON, Brightness will be deactivated. HDCR and MPRT cannot work simultaneously.
MPRT OFF (DISABLE) / ON (ENABLE) When MPRT (Motion Picture Response Time) is activated, Brightness cannot be activated and will be grayed out. HDCR and MPRT cannot work simultaneously. Response time will be inactive, but MPRT will be activated. MPRT is available when the refresh rate is above 85 Hz. It is recommended to turn off MPRT when FreeSync Premium is set to ON.
Image Enhancement (Image Enhancement) OFF (DISABLE) / Weak (Weak) / Medium (Medium) / Strong (Strong) / Strongest (Strongest) Image enhancement improves image edges, making them sharper.

PIP/PBP (G271CQP/G321CQP)

PIP (Picture-in-Picture) allows multiple video sources to be displayed simultaneously on one screen. One program is shown full-screen along with one or more programs in inset windows. PBP (Picture-by-Picture) is a similar function that displays two input sources side-by-side on the screen.

Display Switch (Display Switch) / Audio Switch (Audio Switch) Display switching allows users to switch between the primary and secondary input sources. If there is only one input source, Display Switch and Audio Switch will be grayed out.

Settings Menu

ON (ENABLE) Monitor status information will be displayed on the right side of the screen. Users can activate or deactivate Info. On Screen.
HDMI CEC OFF (DISABLE) / ON (ENABLE) HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) supports Sony PlayStation®, Nintendo® Switch™™, Xbox Series XIS, and various AV devices compatible with CEC. If HDMI CEC is set to ON: The monitor will automatically turn on when a CEC device is turned on. The CEC device will enter power saving mode when the monitor is turned off. When a Sony PlayStation®, Nintendo® Switch™™, or Xbox Series XIS is connected, Game Mode and Pro Mode will be automatically set to Custom Mode by default, and can be changed later to the user's preferred modes.

8. Troubleshooting

Power LED is Off

  • Press the monitor power button again.
  • Check if the monitor power cord is properly connected.

No Image

  • Check if your computer's graphics card is installed correctly.
  • Ensure the computer and monitor are connected to working power outlets.
  • Check if the monitor's signal cable is connected correctly.
  • Your computer might be in standby mode. Press any key to wake the monitor.

Incorrect Screen Size or Centering

Refer to the Preset Display Modes section to set your computer's display settings appropriately for the monitor.

Plug & Play Not Working

  • Check if the monitor power cord is properly connected.
  • Check if the monitor's signal cable is connected correctly.
  • Ensure your computer and graphics card are compatible with Plug & Play.

Blurry, Shaky Screen, or Color Issues

  • Avoid using any video cable extenders.
  • Adjust brightness and contrast.
  • Adjust RGB color or color temperature settings.
  • Check if the monitor's signal cable is connected correctly.
  • Ensure there are no bent pins on the signal cable connector.

Monitor Flickering or Wave Patterns

  • Change the refresh rate to match your monitor's capabilities.
  • Update your graphics card drivers.
  • Keep the monitor away from electrical devices that may cause electromagnetic interference.

9. Safety Precautions

General Safety

  • Read and follow all safety instructions carefully.
  • Pay attention to all warnings and precautions indicated on the device or in the user manual.
  • Service should only be performed by qualified personnel.

Power Safety

  • Before connecting the equipment to a power outlet, verify that the power supply voltage is safe and correctly set for 100-240V.
  • If the power cord has a 3-prong plug, do not remove the grounding contact. The equipment must be connected to a grounded power outlet.
  • Ensure the electrical installation is equipped with a fuse rated at 120/240V, 20A (maximum).
  • If the device will not be used for an extended period, always unplug the power cord from the outlet or turn off the power outlet to reduce energy consumption to zero.
  • Route the power cord where it will not be stepped on. Do not place anything on the power cord.
  • If this device is equipped with an adapter, use only the AC adapter provided by MSI and approved for use with this device.

Battery Safety

  • Exercise caution if the device contains a battery.
  • Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced incorrectly. Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not dispose of batteries in fire or a hot oven, or crush or cut them, as this may cause an explosion.
  • Do not leave the battery in environments with excessively high temperatures or low atmospheric pressure, as this may cause an explosion or leakage of flammable liquids or gases.
  • Do not swallow batteries. If a button/coin cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal chemical burns and death. Keep new and used batteries away from children.

Usage Guidelines

  • To reduce the risk of overheating problems, do not place the device on soft, unstable surfaces and do not block ventilation openings.
  • Use the device only on hard, flat, and stable surfaces.
  • To prevent the device from falling, secure it to a desk, wall, or stable object with an anti-tip device that securely holds the device in place.
  • To prevent fire or electric shock, keep the device away from moisture and high temperatures.
  • Do not leave the equipment in an uncontrolled environment with a storage temperature above 60°C or below -20°C, which may damage the equipment.
  • Maximum operating temperature is approximately 40°C.
  • When cleaning the device, always unplug the power plug from the outlet. Use a soft cloth for cleaning, not industrial chemical substances. Never pour liquid into any opening, as this may damage the equipment or cause electric shock.
  • Keep the equipment away from objects with strong magnetic or electric fields.
  • In case of situations described below, the equipment should be inspected by service personnel:
  • The power cord or plug is damaged.
  • Liquid has entered the equipment.
  • The equipment has been exposed to moisture.
  • The device is not operating correctly, or you cannot influence it to operate according to the user manual.
  • The equipment has been dropped and damaged.
  • The equipment shows obvious signs of damage.

Environmental Protection

  • This product is designed to be reused and recycled later. It should not be disposed of with household waste.
  • For disposal of used equipment, users should contact their local certified recycling center.

10. Certifications and Compliance

TÜV Rheinland Certificates

Low Blue Light (Hardware Solution): Blue light can cause eye fatigue and discomfort. MSI monitors with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification provide eye comfort and health. Follow the instructions to reduce symptoms from prolonged screen exposure.

  • Position the screen at a distance of 50-70 cm (20-28 inches) from your eyes and slightly below eye level.
  • Blink regularly to reduce eye strain after prolonged screen time.
  • Take 20-minute breaks every 2 hours.
  • During breaks, look at distant objects for at least 20 seconds.
  • During breaks, perform stretching exercises to relieve body tension and pain.
  • Use the Reader (Reader)/Anti-Blue (Anti-Blue) mode or enable the Low Blue Light function.

Flicker Free: TÜV Rheinland tested this product for visible and invisible screen flicker that causes user eye fatigue. TÜV Rheinland has defined test criteria that establish minimum standards for various frequency ranges, based on international and industry standards. The product was tested in a laboratory according to these criteria. "Flicker Free" confirms that the device has no visible or invisible flicker, as defined by the standard in the 0 to 3000 Hz range for various brightness settings. Recommendations:
