2.4 GHz Spectrum Overview and Interference
The U2 operates within the 2.4GHz ISM band, utilized by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other wireless devices. 2.4GHz is an open band, requiring no license for worldwide use.
2.4Ghz Frequency Tables:
Channel | Frequencies |
---|---|
CHANNEL 1 | 2402MHz, 2480MHz, 2482MHz |
CHANNEL 2 | 2408MHz, 2472MHz, 2474MHz |
CHANNEL 3 | 2420MHz, 2456MHz, 2458MHz |
CHANNEL 4 | 2432MHz, 2448MHz, 2450MHz |
Tips and Methods to Improve Wireless System Performance:
- Keep a distance of more than 3 meters between the U2 Receiver unit and other WiFi transmitters, such as routers.
- Change channels to avoid interference with other WiFi products.
- In case of environmental interference from other WiFi systems, shorten the distance between the U2 receiver and transmitter units.
Q & A
Four Channels: The U2 wireless guitar system has four channels, supporting up to 4 pairs of systems simultaneously. Different channels can be set for various instruments (guitar, bass, keyboard) to prevent signal interference. For single players, the channel function can also be used to avoid interference from routers or other WiFi devices. Channel 1 is generally recommended.
Portable Plug-and-Play Design: The U2 wireless system features a portable, plug-and-play design for both the receiver and transmitter, allowing for quick switching between instruments like guitars, basses, amplifiers, and other audio equipment, providing flexibility.
One Transmitter and Multiple Receivers: A single transmitter can be used with multiple receivers. For example, to connect a guitar to two amplifiers or to an effects pedal and tuner, use multiple receivers set to the same channel.
U2 Receiver Placement: As the U2 is a 2.4 GHz wireless system, avoid placing the receiver close to other signal emitting devices. Keep the U2 receiver at least 3 meters away from other 2.4 GHz transmitters and WiFi routers.
Channel Switching and Locking: The channel select function is unlocked for 15 seconds after startup. Click the "Channel" button to select a channel. The blue LED will flash once for Channel 1, twice for Channel 2, and so on. The function locks after 15 seconds. Double-clicking the Channel button can reactivate the function.
Power Charge: A "Y" shape cable is included to charge the transmitter and receiver simultaneously. The voltage output is 5V. The red LED light is always on for normal use. A flashing red LED indicates low battery. During charging, the red LED on the transmitter and receiver will be lit and turn off automatically upon full charge.
Blue LED Flashing: Blue LED flashing indicates signal interference. Switch to another channel, turn off interfering devices, or move away from other 2.4GHz WiFi sources. Ensure the U2 transmitter and receiver antennae are within the signal receiving range.
Antennae Angle: The rear end of the U2 houses the antenna, usable at approximately 180°. The strongest signal is from the front of the transmitter and receiver. Keep the front facing each other during use. Do not block the antenna with hands or other items. Keep the signal within the antenna's receiving range. Adjust the antenna angle for optimal performance when dealing with interference or requiring longer distances.
Supportive Pickup and Musical Instrument: The U2 wireless system works well with passive electric guitar pickups, piezo-electric acoustic guitar pickups, and piezo-electric violin pickups. For active electric guitars, the pickup output voltage should be less than 5.6Vp-p. For acoustic guitars with microphone pickup systems, keep the U2 transmitter away from the microphone. It is best to connect the transmitter directly to the instrument. Avoid connecting to distortion effect pedals or high-power output interfaces that may cause timbre distortion.
USB Port: The USB port is for charging function only and does not support firmware upgrades.
