The Manufacturer XVive
XVive is a relatively new manufacturer that has earned a good reputation in the music industry in recent years. XVive is particularly known for wireless systems such as in-ear monitoring and wireless systems for guitars. The in-ear system XVive U4 is particularly noteworthy for its compactness. Many musicians appreciate XVive primarily for products with practical, everyday functions offered at a reasonable price.
A Look at the XVive U35
The XVive U35 is a compact and well-thought-out wireless microphone system specifically developed for dynamic microphones, but it can also be used for transmission to active speakers. It combines solid build quality with practical technology and is aimed at those who need both very simple handling and reliable audio transmission. The following sections will examine the external design and features before delving into the technical details and performance.

Exterior
The system consists of a plug-on transmitter for XLR outputs and a receiver that can be plugged directly into an XLR input.
The housing of the XVive U35 is made of robust yet lightweight plastic, which certainly contributes to the system's durability. The transmitter measures approximately 31 × 29 × 98 mm and weighs just under 93 g. The receiver, with similar dimensions of approximately 31 × 29 × 81 mm, is also very compact and weighs around 92 g. These dimensions make the system not only very handy but also visually unobtrusive, which is a significant advantage, especially for live performances.
Both the transmitter and receiver feature minimal controls and switches: both devices have a small switch for power on/off and a slightly larger button in the middle for setting the frequency. The transmitter also has a small switch to select whether a microphone or line signal should be transmitted to the speakers.

Technical Specifications and Power
The power supply for both components of the system is provided by an integrated lithium battery, which can be fully charged via a USB-C cable in approximately 2.5 hours. The charging cable is also well-thought-out: it's a Y-cable with a USB-A connector on one side and two USB-C connectors on the other. With a full charge, the manufacturer states up to five hours of use are possible.

Technical Details
The XVive U35 transmits audio digitally with a resolution of 24 bits and a sampling rate of 48 kHz, ensuring very clear and detailed sound quality. For wireless transmission, the system uses the license-free 5.8 GHz band. Under optimal conditions, the range is up to 30 meters, which should be more than sufficient for most applications on small to medium-sized stages or events. The latency is stated as less than 5 ms, which is quite low, meaning there should be no perceptible delay between the microphone and the speaker.
A total of six preset channels can be used, which can be selected almost intuitively via the button mentioned earlier on the transmitter and receiver.
XVive U35 in Practice
After examining the XVive U35 from the outside and inside, it's time to see how it performs in real-world use. For wireless microphone systems, practical experience is particularly important to determine how good and useful a system truly is.
Installation and Setup
Setting up the XVive U35 is very straightforward. The transmitter and receiver connect automatically upon power-on – it works on a plug-and-play basis. Simply plug the transmitter into the dynamic microphone and the receiver into the mixer or stage box, and you're ready to go. The green LED on the receiver, indicating a successful connection between the two devices, is particularly practical. The six different channels can be switched quickly, though this wasn't necessary in my case.

Charging is also very uncomplicated. Thanks to the USB-C ports, you don't have to worry about which way the cable is inserted. Overall, it can be said that even users with little technical experience can set up and operate the system without problems.
Scenario 1: XVive U35 with a Vocal Microphone
In the first scenario, I tested the XVive U35 with the dynamic microphone Shure SM58, a classic on many stages. The connection between the transmitter and receiver remained stable and reliable throughout the entire time, without dropouts or interference, despite many other wireless devices in the room – such as other wireless mics, two Wi-Fi routers, and various mobile phones. I was particularly impressed by how natural and clear the voice was transmitted. There were no distorted or artificial frequencies, but a very authentic reproduction overall, where even the smallest details of the voice were clearly audible.
Another advantage was the great freedom of movement offered by the wireless system. You can move freely on stage without being restricted by cables. The minimal latency of under 5 ms was also unnoticeable, and the stated maximum range of about 30 meters caused no issues. In this scenario, the XVive U35 proved to be a very reliable and practical system.
Scenario 2: XVive U35 with an Active Speaker
In the second scenario, the XVive U35 was used in Line mode. A mixing console was wirelessly connected to an active speaker. The setup here was also very quick and uncomplicated. The wireless connection remained stable throughout the entire test, with no interference or dropouts. The audio quality was again impressively clear and very unadulterated.
A particular advantage when using it with an active speaker is the reduction of tripping hazards from cables. Power for the speaker is often easily available at any location, but the audio cable can be problematic. Especially for larger events or in environments where flexibility in speaker placement is crucial, this is a significant benefit. For those who want to connect two active speakers directly, the bundle with two transmitters and receivers should be considered.

Conclusion
The XVive U35 is a solid and very reliable wireless microphone system that impressed me with its simple operation and good sound quality. The compact design and integrated battery provide great freedom of movement and comfort. The stable wireless connection, which works without interference even in challenging environments, is particularly noteworthy. Due to its practical use for line signals to active speakers, the XVive U35 is an optimal set for live performances and events for €219, and is definitely recommendable as a backup solution for any tool kit.
