- Install the clip.
- Install on the bell of the instrument and adjust the position as desired. (Diagram shows transmitter attached to saxophone/trumpet bell).
- Plug in the receiver to a sound mixer, portable PA system, recorder/effect processor, or active loudspeaker.
U8 Quick Start
- Plug in the microphone and lock it in place by screwing it clockwise.
- Install the guitar clip on the transmitter. The U8 clip fits on instrument bodies that are between 74 mm and 105 mm thick (2.9″ – 4.13").
- Install the clip and transmitter on the acoustic guitar body and adjust the microphone position. (Diagram shows transmitter attached to guitar body).
- Plug in the receiver to a sound mixer, portable PA system, recorder/effect processor, or active loudspeaker.
U9 Quick Start
- Plug in the microphone and lock it in place by screwing it clockwise.
- Install the violin clip on the transmitter. The U9 clip fits on instrument bodies that are between 30 mm and 40 mm thick (1.18″ – 1.57").

Operation
Powering On and Pairing
POWER ON: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to power on or off. When power is on, the channel indicator will light up.
PAIR TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER: The U7, U8 and U9 wireless systems all have six channels. Use the channel switch button to change the channel. Set the Receiver and the Transmitter to the same channel. The green LED on the receiver will always be on when the connection is successful.
Using Windscreens
Using the foam windscreen can protect the microphone from dust and liquids. When using the wireless system outdoors in areas with strong wind, the fur windshield removes noise and distortion from your sound. Make sure to install it to the top of the microphone end to prevent the windshield from entering the microphone soundhole.
[Diagram showing microphone end with foam windscreen and fur windshield attached]
Batteries and Charging
The wireless system comes with a dual USB charging cable, which charges the transmitter and the receiver at the same time. Plug it into any 5V / 2A USB charger adapter or USB power source.
Note: Turn off the power before charging. When the unit is fully charged, the red power LED will turn off. Do not use the wireless system while charging, as this may reduce your battery life.
- The battery is low and charging is required when the red LED is flickering.
- Always store at room temperature.
- When storing the unit for long periods, please check the battery charge level regularly and charge if necessary.

2.4 GHz Wireless Overview and Interference
The U7, U8 and U9 wireless systems operate on the 2.4 GHz ISM band, which is also used by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other wireless devices. 2.4 GHz is an open band and, as such, does not require a license to be used worldwide.
Tips and Methods to Improve Wireless System Performance
- Keep more than 3 metres (9.8 feet) of distance between the wireless system receiver unit and Wi-Fi transmitters, such as routers.
- If you experience interference from Wi-Fi devices in the vicinity, try changing to a different channel on the wireless system transmitter and receiver.
- If necessary, shorten the distance between the transmitter and receiver units.
2.4 GHz Frequency Tables
CHANNEL | FREQUENCIES |
---|---|
CHANNEL 1 | 2402 MHz, 2480 MHz, 2482 MHz |
CHANNEL 2 | 2408 MHz, 2472 MHz, 2474 MHz |
CHANNEL 3 | 2416 MHz, 2464 MHz, 2466 MHz |
CHANNEL 4 | 2434 MHz, 2440 MHz, 2442 MHz |
CHANNEL 5 | 2427 MHz, 2448 MHz, 2450 MHz |
CHANNEL 6 | 2422 MHz, 2456 MHz, 2458 MHz |
* U2 1~4 channels are the same as U3/U3C/U4/U7/U8/U9 1~4 channels; U2, U3/U3C/U4/U7/U8 and U9 can be used with max. 6 sets at a time
Troubleshooting
No Sound
- Check that the wireless system Receiver's RF LED is illuminated.
- Check that the microphone is connected and receiving signal from the wireless system Transmitter.
- Check that the power switches are turned on, both on the Transmitter and the Receiver.
- Ensure that the Transmitter and Receiver are set to the same channel.
- The Receiver can be paired with only one Transmitter at a time.
Sound too low
- Adjust the microphone position.
- Increase the gain on the mixer.
Signal instability: RF LED flickering, or off completely
See, "Tips and methods to improve wireless system performance" on page 20.
Unable to switch the channel
The channel switch locks after 15 seconds. Double-click the channel button to unlock and reset.
Multiple connections
One Transmitter can be connected to two or more Receivers.
Application Examples
The Xvive wireless system can be connected to various audio devices:
