IKEA EKET Assembly and Safety Instructions
Design and Quality IKEA of Sweden
Safety Warning: Tip-Over Hazard
WARNING: Serious or fatal crushing injuries can occur from furniture tip-over. To prevent this furniture from tipping over, it must be permanently fixed to the wall using the wall attachment fittings included in the packaging.
If the product is to be hung on the wall, it must be done with the designated suspension rail (sold separately at IKEA). Assess the wall to ensure that it will withstand the weight. As wall materials vary, screws for wall fixation are not included. For advice on suitable screw systems for your wall, contact your local specialised dealer. Wall fixing/hanging must be carried out by a qualified person, since wrong fixation may cause injury or damage.
Assembly Steps
The following steps illustrate the assembly process. Ensure all parts are present before beginning.
-
Prepare the panels: Identify the side panels and insert the dowels into the pre-drilled holes. The diagram shows a hand inserting dowels into a long panel with multiple holes.

Assemble the frame: Connect the side panels to the top and bottom panels. The diagrams show how to slot the panels together and secure them with cam locks or similar fasteners. One diagram shows a person sitting and assembling the unit on a carpeted surface.
-
Attach the back panel: Slide the back panel into the grooves on the assembled frame. The diagram shows a back panel being inserted into the open side of the frame.

Wall Mounting Preparation: Use a level and a drill (with an 8mm or 5/16" drill bit) to mark and drill holes in the wall for the wall attachment fittings. The diagram shows a spirit level, a drill, and a drill bit.
-
Attach Wall Fittings: Secure the wall attachment fittings to the back of the unit using the provided screws. The diagram shows fasteners being screwed into the back of the unit.
-
Position and Secure to Wall: Place the unit against the wall, aligning the wall attachment fittings with the pre-drilled holes in the wall. Secure the unit to the wall using appropriate screws (not included). The diagram shows the unit being positioned against the wall and secured.
-
Stacking Units (if applicable): If stacking multiple EKET units, use the provided connectors to join them securely. The diagrams show how to connect units horizontally and vertically.
Important Note on Wall Fixation: Always use screws and fixings suitable for your specific wall type. If you are unsure, consult a professional.
