Sagemcom Fiber Box X6 Safety Instructions
CAUTION: According to symbol put on the product. Before installing or using the product, read these instructions carefully. Please strictly observe the precautions in use.
General Precautions
To avoid any risk of fire, electric shock or injury, the product must be used in compliance with basic safety precautions, including:
- Always follow the installation instructions provided with the product.
- Do not connect or use this product during thunderstorms. Interference from the mains and/or telephone network can cause electric discharges and electric shock.
- If the product is used for voice communication, acoustic shocks may occur, and excessive acoustic pressure can cause deafness.
- The product must be installed inside a building and its case must not be opened.
- Keep plastic bags out of reach of children as they present a risk of suffocation.
- The product is designed for horizontal use or wall mounting at a height not exceeding 2 meters to prevent insertion of metallic objects through connectors.
- The disc behind the product must always be attached to prevent insertion of metallic objects through holes.
Climatic Conditions
This product is designed for use in an office or home environment with a maximum ambient temperature of 45°C (113°F) and a maximum altitude of xxxx m. It must not be installed in areas with excessive sunshine or heat radiation, or where heat can build up (e.g., on or under other electrical equipment). Avoid exposure to moisture or condensation. Install in a pollution degree 2 environment (clean environment or environment with dry, non-conducting pollution).
Water and Moisture
Do not install the product in a damp or dusty environment. Avoid contact with water or other liquids. Ensure no liquid enters the product. Do not use near water outlets (bath, washbasin, washing machine), in damp basements, or near swimming pools. If liquid enters the appliance, switch it off immediately or unplug the power cord. Continued use may cause electric discharge or fire. Allow the appliance to dry before switching it on if moved from a cold to a warm environment, as condensation may form.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Disconnect the appliance electrically before cleaning. Do not use detergents, aerosols, chemicals, alcohol, benzene, diluents, or flammable products, as they may cause fire. Do not dismantle the product; internal parts are not user-replaceable. Opening covers may expose you to dangerous voltages. Contact Customer Service for repairs or servicing.
Power Supply
Use only the supplied power unit and accessories. Connect to the mains according to installation instructions and the identification label on the power unit. Using unrecommended power sources may cause overheating, deformation, electric discharge, or fire. The coaxial cable shield should be connected to the building's power supply earth.
Accessibility & Electrical Overload
Ensure the power unit is easily accessible and close to the equipment for quick unplugging. Do not overload mains sockets or extensions to reduce the risk of fire or electric shock.
Damage Requiring Repair
Unplug the appliance and contact qualified after-sales service if:
- The power supply or plug is damaged.
- A supplied cable is damaged or frayed.
- Liquid has been spilled into the appliance or it has been exposed to rain or water.
- The appliance does not function normally or its performance varies considerably.
- The appliance has fallen or is damaged.
- There are signs of overheating.
If small metal objects accidentally enter the appliance, disconnect it immediately and contact Customer Service. Do not reconnect until foreign bodies are removed. Unplug immediately if you notice a burning smell or smoke. Do not open the appliance yourself due to the risk of electric shock.
Usage and Installation Notes
This equipment is designed for private use inside a building. Ports Ethernet PORT1 to PORT4, WAN PORT5, FXS TLF1 and TLF2, XGSPON are intended for indoor cable circuits within the building and should not terminate on remote equipment earthed to a different network. Wireless device usage may be prohibited in certain environments; seek permission before use if unsure. Sagemcom Broadband SAS is not responsible for non-compliance with regulations or radio interference caused by non-compliance.
CE Compliance
Sagemcom confirms this product complies with the fundamental requirements and provisions of directive 2014/53/EU. This marking certifies compliance with health and safety of users, electromagnetic compatibility, and correct use of radio frequency spectrum. The device operates within the 2.4GHz and 5GHz ranges. To limit radio frequency exposure, keep the device at least 20cm from people.
Frequency bands and maximum radio-frequency powers:
- 2400-2483.5 MHz: 20dBm
- 5150-5350 MHz: 23dBm
- 5470-5600 MHz: 30dBm
- 5650-5725 MHz: 30dBm
This product is designed for use within Switzerland and other European countries with specific restrictions. The 5150-5350 MHz band is limited to indoor use.
