Charging Instructions

• Batteries are not charged upon delivery. Charge them before use.
• When charging the battery for the first time after purchase or after prolonged storage (longer than 2 months), the battery will not reach its maximum capacity or normal charge, which is only possible after two or three charge and discharge cycles.
• Please turn off the radio before charging. Do not use the radio while charging. Otherwise, the normal charging of the battery will be affected, and dangerous accidents may occur.
• After the battery is fully charged, please remove it from the charging cradle. Do not recharge it before the battery is completely empty. Otherwise, the battery's memory effect will be destroyed.
• Even if proper charging methods are used, if the battery does not gain capacity or usage time, it means the battery's lifespan is nearing its end. Please replace the battery with a new one.

PTT Key (Transmit Key)

• Transmit/Receive switch. Press "PTT" to transmit and speak into the microphone. Release "PTT" to receive.

Initial Function

• Side Key 1: Short press to turn on monitor function. Long press to turn on 1750 Hz.
• Side Key 2: Short press to turn on Jack Light. Long press to turn on emergency alarm.

Common Operations

Password Protection on Power-On

• Turn the "On/Off/Volume Switch" clockwise to turn on this radio. If the program has set power-on password protection, "LOCK" will be displayed on the screen. The user must first enter the password. Then the radio can be used normally.

Switching Main Channel

• Press the F+2 key to switch the main channel. The solid arrow points to the main channel.
• Press PTT to start transmission on the main channel.

Dualband Single Watch / Dual Watch Switch (Frequency/Channel Mode Switch)

• The Dual-Watch operation mode can be set via the menu. The method is: MENU ▸ 17 ▸ CHAN_A: Standard TX channel is A channel or CHAN_B. The standard TX channel is B channel. "DW" is displayed on the screen.
• Press the F+3 key on the main page to switch between frequency mode and channel mode.
• Frequency Mode: In this mode, users can manually enter the receive frequency. Or you can press the Up/Down key to adjust the frequency step by step. The parameter can be changed via the menu. In this mode, users cannot enter the TX frequency. You can set the frequency or the direction of the offset frequency to change the transmit frequency.
• Channel Mode: Displays the actual channel number. In this mode, users can manually enter the channel number. Or you can press the Up/Down key to switch channels. The parameter can be changed via the menu.

Cross-Band Receive/Transmit

The method is: MENU ▸ 18 ▸ WX. Press MENU to enter the OFF setting: Main channel TX. When CHAN_A or B receives a valid call, the channel automatically becomes the main channel until the call ends.

• CHAN_A: Regardless of which channels receive valid calls, the standard TX channel is A channel and displays the "DW" character.
• CHAN_B: Regardless of which channels receive valid calls, the standard TX channel is B channel and displays the "DW" character.

Channel Storage

• In MR mode, channel storage is possible. You can copy the current channel to a new channel.
• In VFO mode, you should set the parameters RX frequency, frequency deviation direction, wide/narrow bandwidth, RX/TX CTCSS/DCS, TX output power, participation in scanning, DTMF code, scrambler, etc. First press MENU ▸ 13 ▸ CH-001 and then MENU again to enter channel storage. Select the channel with the Up/Down key. Or you can use the number key to enter the channel number. Then press the MENU key again. "SURE?" will be displayed on the LCD. And you can press the MENU key to save the channel.
• If you select the saved channel and CH-XXX is displayed, the channel is saved. If XXX is displayed, the channel is empty.

Channel Deletion

• Press MENU ▸ 50 ▸ CH-XXX, and then press MENU again to access the channel deletion process. Select the channel you want to delete with the Up/Down key. Or you can enter the channel number via the keypad. Then press the MENU key again. "SURE?" will be displayed on the LCD. And you can press the MENU key to delete the channel.

Receive/Transmit CTCSS/DCS Setting Process

MENU ▸ 4 ▸ R-DCS. Press MENU to access and select the RX-DCS code you want to set from the DCS list with the Up/Down keys.

MENU ▸ 5 ▸ R-CTCS. Press MENU to access and select the RX-CTCSS code you want to set from the CTCSS list with the Up/Down keys.

MENU ▸ 6 ▸ T-DCS. Press MENU to access and select the TX-DCS code you want to set from the DCS list with the Up/Down keys.

MENU ▸ 7 ▸ T-CTCS. Press MENU to enter and select the TX-CTCSS code you want to set from the CTCSS list with the Up/Down keys.

• CTCSS/DCS is used to remove unwanted noise signals during reception.

Quick Channel Copy (As Frequency Meter for Radios and Other Devices)

• Quick copy requires a strong signal. Both the transmitting and receiving radios should have an antenna installed. And their distance should not be too far.
• Press F+4, the receiver will switch to the frequency meter interface. When a strong signal is received, the LCD screen will display the signal carrier frequency and the transmission channel (CTCSS or DCS). Press the * key to measure the frequency again.
• After the effective frequency has been measured, press the MENU key to save the currently measured frequency and the transmitted CTCSS/DCS to the specified channel.
• During frequency measurement, press EXIT or PTT to exit frequency measurement.

Automatic CTCSS/DCS Search

• First, set the correct receive frequency and then press F+* to start the channel search. When the radio receives a valid CTCSS/DCS signal, it will display the searched TX-CTCSS/DCS signal. Press MENU to save the searched CTCSS/DCS signal to the current channel.
• If SCAN CMP is displayed on the screen, it means the radio has searched for a valid CTCSS/DCS signal and the automatic search has ended. If SCAN FAIL is displayed on the screen, it means the radio has not searched for a valid CTCSS/DCS signal and the automatic search has ended.

DTMF

DTMF Call Initiation

• Manual Dialing: Press PTT and the numeric key on the keypad to make a call.
• Automatic Call: Press *, enter 3 digits, and short press PTT to start the DTMF call. When transmitting, it automatically sends its own ID number.
• Individual Call: Send the ID of the other party plus our own ID code, for example 123. Group Call: ▸ 100. ID 100 Call number 123.
• Use a group call code instead of one or more codewords in the ID number to call a communication group. The group call code is set by the programming software. For example, if the group call code is set to "#,send 12#", you can call 10 radios with ID numbers 120-129, and if you send 1##, you can call 100 radios with ID numbers 100~199.
• All Calls: ### Send group call to TD, can be sent to all users.

DTMF Reception

Process: Press MENU ▸ 43 ▸ DCD ON. If the received codeword is a personal DTMF ID code, decoding is successful and you communicate with the other party within the reset time. When the reset time is reached, you must perform decoding again.

• MENU ▸ 40 ▸ D-HOLD 5S Sets the automatic reset time. The initial value is 5 seconds.
• MENU ▸ 39 ▸ D-RSP Sets the automatic response after receiving a DTMF call. NULL: off, RING: local ringtone. ANSWER: Automatic callback; BOTH: local call + automatic callback.

PTT ID

Initiation: You can configure the DTMF online code and offline code via the programming software. If online code and offline code are activated, this radio sends the online code when PTT is pressed, and the offline code when PTT is released.

Scanning

• Method 1: Long press the * key to start or end scanning.
• Method 2: Set the side key as Scan Start/Stop switch.
• Scanning: During scanning, you can change the scan direction with the Up/Down key.
• Press the PTT key or the Exit key to end scanning, or long press the * key to end scanning.
• Channel Search: When the search starts, channels in the search list are detected sequentially. And during scanning, you can answer incoming calls with the PTT key.
• Operation: Press MENU ▸ 31 ▸ S-List LIST1 or LIST2 and browse the specified channel list.
• Operation: Press MENU ▸ 32 ▸ SLIST1 to display the channel listed in LIST1.
• Operation: Press MENU ▸ 33 ▸ SLIST2 to display the channel listed in LIST2.
• Operation: Press Menu ▸ 25 ▸ S-ADD1 to add the current channel to scan list LIST1;
• Operation: Press MENU ▸ 26 ▸ S-ADD2 to add the current channel to scan list LIST2;
• Operation: Press Menu ▸ 22 ▸ SC-REV to select the scan mode.
• Priority Scan: You can set the priority scan channel. During scanning, 50% of the scanning is performed on members with priority 1. If there are members with priority 2, the scan rate is priority 1. The number of members is reduced from 50% to 25%. Even if scanning occurs on a non-priority channel or priority 2, members, the radio continues to scan the activity of the member with priority 1. If the radio detects activity from members with priority 1, the current transmission is stopped and members with priority 1 are called.

Emergency Alarm

• The emergency alarm is used to indicate emergency situations. You can trigger emergency calls at any time and on any screen, even if there is activity on the current channel. Users must configure the emergency call button via the programming software for this radio.
• Press the emergency button to trigger the local acoustic alarm and send a remote alarm. The alarm type can be set as local alarm/remote alarm.
• Exit alarm mode with any key.
• Operation: Press MENU ▸ 34 ▸ AL-MOD TONE. This radio emits an alarm tone and sends a remote alarm signal.
• Operation: Press MENU ▸ 34 ▸ AI-MOD SITE. This radio emits an alarm tone.

FM Radio

• Press F+0 to enter FM radio mode. Press the Up/Down keys to change the frequency or pre-stored FM channels. And you can enter the FM frequency or pre-stored FM channels via the keypad.
• Press F+1 to switch between VFO and MR mode.
• Press F+2 to start automatic search for FM radio stations. In this process, the searched FM channels are automatically saved. Up to 20 FM channels can be saved.
• Press F+3 to start manual FM channel search. In this process, users must manually save the searched FM stations.
• The Menu key is used to save the FM channel.
• Use the Exit key to exit the FM channel search.
• The Up/Down keys switch the scan direction.
• If the radio receives effective calls in FM mode or you press PTT to initiate calls, the mode is temporarily exited from FM mode to enter communication status. After the intercom ends, the radio returns to FM radio status.
• Press the EXIT key or the F+0 key to exit FM mode.

Receiving Emergency Weather Channels

• Press F+5 to access or exit the NOAA weather alert.
• This radio can receive 10 NOAA channels.
• This mode can be set via Menu 49 NOAA_S.

Keypad Lock

• Long press the # key to lock or unlock all keypad keys. Side keys can be used normally during keypad lock.

Reset

• Operation: Press MENU ▸ 51 ▸ RESET.
• VFO: Reserve all memory channels.
• ALL: Reset all parameters, including memory channels.
• "SURE?" will be displayed on the LCD. Press the MENU key and wait for the radio to restart. Afterwards, all radio menus return to their original factory values.

One-Key Call Channel

• F+9 immediately jumps to an important call channel, and you can set the important channel to a call channel via MENU ▸ 30 ▸ 1-Call.

Aviation Band Reception

• Enter the receive frequency. If the local aviation frequency is not clear, the scan function can scan the entire frequency band 108-136.
• Menu ▸ 48 ▸ AM ON sets the channel modulation method to AM and listens to aviation intercom.
• Menu ▸ 48 ▸ AM OFF sets the channel modulation method to FM.
• The settings in Menu 48 only apply to the frequency band 108-136.

Wireless Radio Replication

• Hold down the PTT key + Side Key 2 to access the wireless radio replication interface. "Air Copy (RDY)" will be displayed on the LCD. Both the transmitting and receiving radios can set the wireless replication frequency via the digital keypad. The transmit and receive frequencies must be consistent. The default receive/transmit frequency is 410.0125 MHz.
• Press the EXIT key of the receiving radio to enter receive mode. "Air Copy" will be displayed on the LCD. Press the MENU key of the transmitting radio to start transmitting frequency data. "Air Copy" will be displayed on the LCD.
• During the copying process, the LCD displays the copy progress RCV: XX E:XX. E:XX indicates the error number of the copy data. When the copying process is complete, the transmitter displays SND: 120.
