Charging Notes:
- Battery packs are not charged upon shipment; charge them before use.
- Initial charging after purchase or extended storage (over 2 months) may not bring the battery pack to its full capacity. Full capacity is achieved after two or three repeated charge and discharge cycles.
- Power off the radio before charging. Do not use the radio during charging, as it may affect normal charging and cause dangerous accidents.
- After the battery pack is fully charged, remove it from the charger-base. Do not recharge it until it is completely depleted to avoid memory effect.
- If the battery does not gain capacity or usage time despite correct charging, it indicates the battery life is ending, and a new battery pack should be used.

Common Operation Introduction
Power On Password Protection
- Turn the "Power/Volume Switch" clockwise to power on. If Power On Password Protection is set, the screen will show "LOCK". Input the password to use the radio normally.
Switch Main Channel
- Press F+2 Key to switch the main channel. A solid arrow points to the main channel.
- Press PTT to start TX in the main channel.
Dual Band Single – Watch/Dual – Watch Switch & Frequency/Channel Mode Switch
- Dual-watch operation mode can be set via menu (MENU → 17 → CHAN_A or CHAN_B). The screen will show "DW".
- In the main page, press F+3 key to switch between Frequency Mode and Channel Mode.
- Frequency Mode: Manually input RX frequency or adjust by step frequency using Up/Down key. Parameters can be modified via menu. TX frequency cannot be input directly; set Frequency or Direction of Offset Frequency to change TX frequency.
- Channel Mode: Displays the actual channel number. Manually input channel number or use Up/Down key to switch channels. Parameters can be modified via menu.
Cross-Band Receiving/Transmitting
Method: MENU → 18 → WX. Press MENU to enter setting.
- OFF: Main Channel TX. When CHAN_A or B receives a valid call, the channel automatically becomes the main channel until the call ends.
- CHAN_A: Default TX Channel is A, displaying "DW" character, regardless of which channel receives valid calls.
- CHAN_B: Default TX Channel is B, displaying "DW" character, regardless of which channel receives valid calls.
Channel Save
- In MR Mode, Channel Save is available to copy the current channel to a new channel.
- In VFO Mode, set RX Frequency, Frequency Deviation Direction, Wide/Narrow Bandwidth, RX/TX CTCSS/DCS, TX Output Power, Scanning participation, DTMF code, Scrambler, etc. First, press MENU → 13 → CH-001, then press MENU again to enter Channel Save. Choose the channel by Up/Down Key or Number Key. Press MENU again, the LCD will show "SURE?". Press MENU key to save the channel.
- When a saved channel shows CH-XXX, it is saved. If it shows XXX, the channel is empty.
Channel Delete
- Press MENU → 50 → CH-XXX, then press MENU again to enter Channel Delete. Choose the channel to delete by Up/Down Key or Keypad. Press MENU again, the LCD will show "SURE?". Press MENU key to delete the channel.
Receiving/Transmitting CTCSS/DCS Setting
Process Flow:
- MENU → 4 → R-DCS. Press MENU to enter and choose the RX DCS Code from the DCS List by Up/Down Key.
- MENU → 5 → R-CTCS. Press MENU to enter and choose the RX CTCSS Code from the CTCSS List by Up/Down Key.
- MENU → 6 → T-DCS. Press MENU to enter and choose the TX DCS Code from the DCS List by Up/Down Key.
- MENU → 7 → T-CTCS. Press MENU to enter and choose the TX CTCSS Code from the CTCSS List by Up/Down Key.
- CTCSS/DCS is used to remove unwanted noise signals when receiving.
Fast Copy One Channel (Acts as Frequency Meter for Two-Way Radio & Some Other Devices)
- Fast Copy requires a strong signal. Both transmitter and receiver should have antennas installed and be close to each other.
- Press F+4; the Receiver enters Frequency Meter interface. Upon receiving a strong signal, the LCD displays signal carrier frequency and transmitting channel (CTCSS or DCS). Press * key to re-measure.
- After measuring the effective frequency, press the MENU key to save the measured frequency and transmitting CTCSS/DCS to the specified channel.
- During frequency measuring, press EXIT or PTT to exit Frequency Meter.
Auto CTCSS/DCS Search
- First, set the correct receiving frequency, then press F+* to start channel searching. When the radio receives a valid CTCSS/DCS signal, it displays the searched TX CTCSS/DCS signal. Press MENU to save it to the current channel.
- If the screen displays SCAN CMP, the radio has searched a valid CTCSS/DCS signal and stopped auto-searching.
- If the screen displays SCAN FAIL, the radio did not search a valid CTCSS/DCS signal and stopped auto-searching.
DTMF Calling
Initiative:
- Manual dialing: Press PTT and the Number key on the keypad to make a call.
- Automatic calling: Press *, enter 3 digits, short press PTT to start the DTMF call. It automatically sends its own ID number when transmitting.
- Single call: Send the ID of the other party plus your own ID code (e.g., 123 * 100, ID 100 calls ID 123).
- Group call: Use a group calling code set via program software (e.g., #, send 12# to call 10 radios with ID 120-129; send 1## to call 100 radios with ID 100-199).
- All call: Send ### group call TD to call all users.
DTMF Receiving:
Process Flow: Press MENU → 43 → DCD ON. When the DTMF personal ID code is received, decoding is successful, and communication with the other party occurs within the resetting time. Re-decoding is required when the reset time expires.
- MENU → 40 → D-HOLD 5S sets the automatic reset time. Initial value is 5 seconds.
- MENU → 39 → D-RSP sets the automatic response after receiving a DTMF call (NULL: off, RING: local ring, REPLY: automatic callback, BOTH: local ring + automatic callback).
PTT-ID
You can configure DTMF online and offline codes via program software. When enabled, the radio sends the online code when pressing PTT and the offline code when releasing PTT.
Scanning
Start Scanning:
- Method 1: Long press * Key to Start Scanning or Exit Scanning.
- Method 2: Set Side Key as Scanning Start/Close Switch.
- Frequency Scanning: During scanning, change scan direction with Up/Down key. Press PTT Key or Exit key to exit Scanning or long press * Key to exit Scanning.
- Channel Scanning: When scanning starts, it detects channels in the scan list. During scanning, you can answer incoming calls by pressing PTT Key.
- Process:
- MENU → 31 → S-List LIST1 or LIST2: Scan the specified channel list.
- MENU → 32 → SLIST1: View channels listed in LIST1.
- MENU → 33 → SLIST2: View channels listed in LIST2.
- MENU → 25 → S-ADD1: Add current channel to scan LIST1.
- MENU → 26 → S-ADD2: Add current channel to scan LIST2.
- MENU → 22 → SC-REV: Select Scanning Mode.
- Priority Scanning: Specify a priority scanning channel. During scanning, 50% of scanning is at priority 1 members. If priority 2 members exist, priority 1 scanning rate reduces from 50% to 25%. Even when scanning non-priority or priority 2 channels, the radio continues scanning for priority 1 activity. If priority 1 activity is found, it stops current transmitting and calls priority 1 members.
Emergency Alarm
- Emergency Alarm indicates emergency situations. Initiate emergency calls anytime, on any screen, even with activity on the current channel. Configure the emergency alarm button via programming software.
- Press the emergency alarm key to start local audible alarm and send remote alarm. Alarm type can be set as local or remote.
- Exit alarm mode by any key.
- Process:
- MENU → 34 → AL-MOD TONE: Radio makes alarm sound and sends remote alarm signal.
- MENU → 34 → AI-MOD SITE: Radio makes alarm sound.
FM Radio
- Press F+0 to enter FM radio mode. Use Up/Down keys to change frequency or pre-stored FM channels. Use the keyboard to enter FM frequency or pre-stored FM channels.
- Press F+1 to switch between VFO and MR mode.
- Press F+2 to start automatic FM channel searching. This stores up to 20 searched FM channels.

- Press EXIT Key or F+0 Key to exit FM Mode.
Emergency Weather Channel Receiving
- Press F+5 to enter or exit NOAA Weather Alert.
- This radio can receive 10 NOAA channels.
- This mode can be set through Menu 49 NOAA_S.
Keypad Locking
- Long press the # key to lock or unlock all keyboard keys. Side keys remain functional while keypad is locked.
Reset
- Process: Press MENU → 51 → RESET.
- VFO: Reserves all storage channels.
- ALL: Resets all parameters, including storage channels.
- LCD displays "Sure?". Press MENU key and wait for radio to restart. All menu settings return to factory default.
One Key Call Channel
- F+9 immediately jumps to one key call channel. Set the important channel to one call channel via MENU → 30 → 1-call.
Aviation Band Receiving
- Enter the receiving frequency. If the local aviation frequency is unclear, the scanning function can scan the 108-136 full frequency band.
- Menu → 48 → AM ON sets the channel modulation method to AM to listen to aviation intercom.
- Menu → 48 → AM OFF sets the channel modulation method to FM.
- Menu 48 settings are only valid for the 108-136 frequency band.
Wireless Radio Replication
- Hold PTT + side key 2 to enter Wireless Radio Replication interface. LCD displays Air Copy (RDY). Both transmitting and receiving radios use the digital keyboard to set wireless replication frequency. Frequencies must be consistent. Default receiving/transmitting frequency is 410.0125 MHz.
- Press EXIT key of the receiving radio to enter receiving mode; its LCD displays Air Copy. Press MENU key of the transmitting radio to start frequency data transmitting; its LCD displays Air Copy.
- During copy, LCD displays copy progress RCV: XX E:XX. E:XX indicates the number of errors. When copy finishes, transmitter displays SND: 120.
