TE Connectivity AMP-O-LECTRIC Model G II Splice Terminator

Designed for the maximum in flexibility, reliability and safety.

Product Overview

Wire Processing with thru-splicing for crimped terminals.

Applying thru-splices is fast and efficient with the Model G II splice terminator. Its open access design provides operators access to both sides of the applicator for placing and holding wires. The Model G II splice terminator is one of the quietest terminators on the market. It features improved access and significantly updated lighting in the under cabinet and target areas, and includes a variable speed option for flexibility with slower ram and feed speeds. Tool-less changeover capability allows for quick setup.

Key Features & Control

Engineered with the Operator in Mind

The Model G II splice terminator offers fast and efficient thru-splice application. Its open access design allows easy placement and holding of wires from both sides of the applicator. It is recognized as one of the quietest terminators available. Enhancements include improved access and updated lighting in the under cabinet and target areas. A variable speed option provides greater flexibility for applications requiring slower ram and feed speeds. Tool-less changeover capability ensures quick setup.

Complete Control

Similar to other AMP-O-LECTRIC Model G II terminators, this splice version features fine crimp height adjustment, full guarding with interlocks, total and batch counters, and capabilities for jog and split-cycle operation. Notably, Model G II splice terminators use a two-piece applicator design and do not accept Heavy-Duty Mini (HDM) or OCEAN style applicators. The user-friendly LCD control panel offers simple button controls for: motor powering on/off, adjusting ram speed, jogging the motor forward or in reverse, switching to split-cycle operation, controlling work lighting, managing air feed, and resetting the batch counter. For enhanced quality, the controls detect and report errors, stopping the cycle when a bad crimp is detected by the CQM II.

Precision Matters

The splice terminator is available in two versions: with and without Crimp Quality Monitoring (CQM II). When equipped with the optional CQM II, the Model G II splice terminator measures force and position during every crimp cycle, providing real-time monitoring of crimp height, a fundamental crimp characteristic. The CQM II also monitors the shape of the work curve for each termination. Variations in the work curve can indicate issues such as improper wire placement, incorrect wire size, insulation in the wire barrel, or tooling wear. CQM II details and part numbers are provided separately. All Model G II splice terminator versions include precision adjustment for crimp height. This feature, combined with the optional CQM II, enables repeatable, tight crimp tolerances essential for today's quality demands. Crimp height can be adjusted in 0.013 [.0005"] increments over a 0.457mm [.018"] range by simply resetting a dial.

Safety First

Improved guarding on the Model G II splice terminator allows for quick and smooth installation of both end-feed and side-feed applicator styles. It meets applicable CE and domestic safety requirements.

Applicator and Monitoring

Standard G Splice Applicator

The two-piece applicator is designed exclusively for the AMP-O-LECTRIC Model G II splice terminator. Applicators are available for end- and side-reeled products. A dial-in setting allows for quick adjustment of crimp height. All applicators utilize an air-feed mechanism.

Crimp Quality Monitor II (CQM II)

The Crimp Quality Monitor II (CQM II) evaluates every crimp as it is produced, measuring crimp height and assessing crimp quality. Visual and audible alarms alert the operator to questionable crimp characteristics. The CQM II includes data ports for printing and networking.
