CHOOSE THE RIGHT LOCATION
Indoor and outdoor & above-ground & portable wiring & portable spa.
Only For Spas Equipped With Wi-Fi:
To choose the right location for the spa equipped with Wi-Fi, read the Spa Wi-Fi instruction booklet included in the package and the following instructions.
For All Spas:
The surface chosen for installing the pool must meet the following technical characteristics:
- Due to the combined weight of the water in the spa and the users, it is crucial that the chosen surface for setting up the spa can evenly support the total weight throughout the entire time the spa is set up.
- For both indoor and outdoor installations, an adequate drainage system must be provided to collect overflow water. Water may flow out of the spa during filling, draining, or use.
- The ground must be flat and smooth. If the surface is sloped or uneven, it can cause an unbalanced load on the spa structure, potentially damaging the seam.
- The selected surface must be free of any objects. The weight of the water can cause any object under the spa to damage or perforate the spa floor.
- The selected location should not have overhead power lines or trees. Ensure the location does not contain underground pipes or cables of any kind.
- The selected position must be far from the house entrance. Do not place equipment or other furniture around the spa. Water that escapes from the spa during use or due to a defective product can damage furniture in the house or around the pool.
- Do not install the spa on carpet or other flooring materials (e.g., untreated cork, wood, or other porous materials) that promote or retain moisture and bacteria, or that can be affected by water treatment chemicals used in the spa.
- Consult your local government authority for installation regulations.
Recommended Surfaces:
Grass, soil, concrete, and all other surfaces that meet the above conditions.
Surfaces Not Recommended:
Mud, sand, gravel, patio, balcony, driveway, soft/loose ground, or any other ground that does not meet the above conditions.
Indoor Setup:
Consider special requirements if you are installing the spa indoors.
- Humidity is a natural side effect of Lay-Z-Spa installation. Assess the effects of humidity in the air on exposed wood, paper, etc., at the proposed location. To minimize these effects, it is strongly recommended to adequately ventilate the selected space. Consult an expert to determine if more ventilation is needed.
- Ensure regular and adequate air treatment (ventilation and dehumidification) in the indoor location to maintain user safety and comfort.
- Empty the spa before removing it from the indoor location or building.
Outdoor Setup:
- The selected surface must be free of aggressive plants and weeds. Such strong vegetation can grow through the liner and cause water or air leakage. Grass or other vegetation that can cause odor or slime formation must be removed from the setup area.
- Do not expose the spa surface to direct sunlight for extended periods. We recommend protecting the spa from direct sunlight by using a cover when it is not in use.
- Follow the important instructions above to choose the correct surface and location to set up your spa. Damaged spa parts due to the setup surface and location not matching the instructions will not be considered manufacturing defects and will not be covered by warranty or service claims. It is the owner's responsibility to ensure the location meets the requirements at all times.
- Consult your local professional installers for environmental conditions, such as groundwater and frost hazards.
- It is recommended to protect the spa from direct sunlight using a cover when it is not in use.
SPA HEATING EQUIPOTENTIAL BONDING CONNECTION
It is recommended that a qualified electrician connect the pump to an equipotential bonding connection using a full copper conductor of at least 2.5 mm².
HEATING RESET
- When using the Lay-Z-Spa for the first time or after a long period of inactivity, press the reset button on the pump with a small, thin object.
- If the temperature on the control panel (or water temperature) has not changed for 4-5 hours after activating the heating system, use a thin object to press the RESET button and restart the heating system.
- If the Lay-Z-Spa is in direct sunlight and the ambient temperature is above 35°C, there is a risk that the heating system will not work and the display will show alarm code E08. Under these conditions, wait for a cooler time of day before pressing the RESET button with a thin object and restarting the heating system. If the spa remains in the same position, alarm E08 may reappear. If so, follow the same procedure.

MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: You must ensure the pump is disconnected before starting spa maintenance to prevent the risk of injury or death.
LINER
- It is normal for your liner to appear to lose air. Changes in ambient temperature can alter the internal air pressure in the liner.
- To prevent water from escaping when disconnecting the pump from the liner, block the air hose by screwing on the cap and installing the plugs on the debris screens.
COVER
The cover should be cleaned regularly inside and out with a mild detergent for PVC material.
FILTER CARTRIDGE
Check and clean your filter cartridge daily to optimize the performance of the filter system.
- We recommend replacing your filter cartridge weekly or if the filter cartridge remains dirty and discolored after washing.
WATER
Many contaminants in the water settle on surfaces below the waterline. These contaminants can cause the growth of bacteria, algae, or mold. It is recommended to clean spas as often as necessary. Over time, stubborn stains or biofilm may develop on accessible surfaces below the waterline, or high concentrations of salts or unwanted byproducts of the reaction may occur. Depending on the hygienic condition, cleanliness, visibility, odor, dirt, and stains, it is recommended to completely change the water and clean/disinfect the spa. When emptying the spa, the regulations and instructions for draining the water must be observed.
- It is essential to keep your spa water clean and chemically balanced. Simply cleaning the filter cartridge is not sufficient for proper maintenance; we recommend using pool chemicals to maintain water chemistry and chlorine or bromine tablets (do not use granules) with the chemical dispenser.
- Water quality is directly related to usage frequency, number of users, and overall spa maintenance. The water should be changed every 3 days if no chemical treatment is performed. It is strongly recommended to use tap water to fill the spa to minimize the impact of unwanted content, such as minerals.
- We recommend taking a shower before using your Lay-Z-Spa, as cosmetic products, lotions, and other residues on the skin can quickly affect water quality.
- Do not pour chemical products directly into the water; the chemical will settle on the bottom of the spa, damaging the material and discoloring the PVC.
Chemical Tablets (Not Included):
- Remove the chemical dispenser from the spa when the spa is in use.
- After performing chemical maintenance and before using the spa, use a test kit (not included) to test the water's chemical composition. We recommend maintaining the water's chemical balance as follows:
pH | Total Alkalinity | Free Chlorine |
---|---|---|
7.4-7.6 | 80-120ppm | 2-4ppm |
Damage to the spa due to improper use of chemicals and improper water management is not covered by the warranty. Pool chemicals are potentially toxic and must be handled with care. Chemical fumes and improper labeling and storage of chemical containers pose serious health risks. Please consult your local pool or chemical supplier for more information on chemical maintenance. Pay close attention to the chemical manufacturer's instructions. Excessive use of chemicals will discolor the print and all points of the spa material; in the worst case, it will damage the structure of the liner.
DISASSEMBLY AND STORAGE
DRAINING WATER
Follow the drawings in the manual to drain the spa. Drawings are for illustration purposes only. They may not represent the actual product. Not to scale.
DRYING
- After draining the spa, some water will remain in the pump, liner chamber, massage channel, and inflatable cover. Ensure all the above parts of the spa are completely dry. This is essential to extend the spa's lifespan and prevent mold formation.
- The water in the liner chamber and inflatable cover comes from the humidity in the air used to inflate them. The amount of water may vary depending on the humidity percentage in your environment.
- Follow the drawings in the manual to dry the different parts of the spa. Drawings are for illustration purposes only. They may not represent the actual product. Not to scale.
CLEANING
Detergent residues and dissolved solids from swimsuits and chemicals can accumulate on the spa walls. Use soap and water to clean the walls and rinse thoroughly. Do not use hard brushes or abrasive cleaners.

- Press the patch over the area to be repaired.
- Wait 30 seconds before inflating.
For Duraplus™™ PVC Material:
If the spa is torn or punctured, use the supplied PVC patch and glue (not included) and follow the steps below:
- Clean and dry the area to be repaired.
- Cut the supplied PVC patch to the correct size.
- Use glue (not included) to coat one side of the newly cut patch. Ensure the glue is evenly distributed. Wait 30 seconds and then place the cut patch with glue over the damaged area.
- Smooth out any trapped air bubbles and press firmly for two minutes.
- Wait 30 minutes before inflating.
STORAGE
- Remove all accessories and ensure the liner, inflatable cover, pump, and accessories are completely clean and dry before storing them. If the spa is not completely dry, mold may form, which can damage the spa's lining during the storage period.
- Only fold the liner when the ambient temperature is above 10°C / 50°F. If the spa is not completely dry, mold may form and the pool liner may be damaged.
- Store the spa in a dry place with a moderate temperature between 10°C (50°F) and 38°C (100°F).
- It is strongly recommended to place the spa liner and inflatable cover in a cardboard box to better protect the PVC material during the winter months.
