Installation Instructions
Before installation, ensure the roof thickness is compatible (30mm to 85mm).
- Prepare Opening: Cut a square hole of 39cm x 39cm in the roof.
- Electrical Connection: Arrange the electrical connection directly from a 12V DC battery. Ensure it is not connected to 220V.
- Seal External Frame: Apply sealant (e.g., SIKALASTOMER-710, THEROSTAT II, or DEKALIN 1512) to the lower part of the external frame, following the designated rails for a minimum width of 30mm.
- Position External Frame: Place the external frame into the prepared opening, ensuring the hinges face the front of the vehicle.
- Fasten External Frame: Secure the external frame using 20 self-tapping screws (Ø4.2x30mm UNI EN ISO 7049). Carefully seal the entire perimeter of the frame, filling any gaps between the roof and the frame, and cover the screw heads with sealant.
- Connect Motor: Connect the input cables of the electric motor.
- Fasten Internal Frame: Secure the internal frame with 8 self-tapping screws (Ø3.5x15mm UNI EN ISO 7049).
- Remove Protective Film: Carefully remove the protective plastic film from the cover. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during this process, as it can make removal difficult.
Diagrams illustrate cutting the 39cm opening, electrical connection to a 12V battery, applying sealant, positioning the frame, securing with screws, connecting motor wires, and fastening the inner frame.
Polar Control Function
The Polar Control function automatically activates ventilation based on the set temperature difference (ΔT) and the outdoor temperature.
Operation:
- When the Polar Control function is activated, the system detects the ambient room temperature.
- By adjusting the control key (A) and the desired ΔT value, the fan will operate at the set speed until the target temperature is reached.
- Switching the Polar Control function on and off resets the displayed room temperature.
- To limit energy consumption, it is recommended to set the Polar Control to the minimum ΔT of 1°C once a comfortable room temperature is achieved.
Note: The cooling capacity of the fan is dependent on the difference between the outdoor temperature and the room temperature.
ΔT: Represents the difference between the detected room temperature and the desired temperature.
Diagrams show control panel indicators for different ΔT settings (ΔT-1°C to ΔT-5°C), Polar Control off, lowest cooling, and maximum cooling modes.
Care and Maintenance
For cleaning the interior and exterior of the rooflight, always use neutral, non-aggressive detergents.
- For cleaning the 'Crystal' cover, use an acrylic glass cleaner with a soft cloth to avoid scratching the surface.
- Never use aggressive products such as glass cleaners, all-purpose cleaners, abrasives, or dish-washing detergents.
- Avoid using alcohol-containing detergents, solvents, or any corrosive liquids.
- The mosquito net can be cleaned with water and a neutral detergent.
