Dimensions
The rooflight requires a square opening of 39 cm x 39 cm. It is designed for installation on roofs with a thickness ranging from 30 mm to 85 mm.
External Dimensions: Approximately 45.5 cm x 45.5 cm.
Internal Frame Diameter: Approximately 39 cm.
Installation Clearance: Minimum 3 cm, maximum 5 cm clearance is recommended around the opening for standard installation. Optional extension kits allow for different roof thicknesses (e.g., 5 cm to 6.5 cm, 6.5 cm to 8.5 cm).
Installation Instructions
Follow these steps for proper installation:
- Prepare Opening: Select the installation location and cut a 39 cm x 39 cm square hole in the roof. Ensure the roof thickness is compatible (30-85 mm).
- Electrical Connection: Prepare the electrical connection for a 12Vdc power source. Do not use 220V.
- Seal External Frame: Apply sealant (e.g., SIKALASTOMER-710, THEROSTAT II, or DEKALIN 1512) ? to the lower part of the external frame, following the designated channels.
- Position External Frame: Place the external frame into the roof opening, ensuring the hinges face the front of the vehicle.
- Secure External Frame: Fasten the external frame using 20 self-tapping screws (4.2x30mm UNI EN ISO 7049, not included). Seal the perimeter of the frame and the screw heads to prevent leaks.
- Connect Motor: Connect the power cables to the electric motor. Ensure correct polarity (Red to Positive ⚡+, Black to Negative ⚡-). ⚠️ Caution: Do not reverse polarity.
- Secure Internal Frame: Fasten the internal frame using 8 self-tapping screws (3.5x15mm UNI EN ISO 7049, not included).
- Final Check: Remove the protective plastic film from the cover. Ensure the rooflight is properly closed before driving. Periodically check all screws for tightness.
Safety Note: Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or installation steps. Reconnect only after completion.
Polar Control Function
The Polar Control function automatically adjusts fan speed based on the set temperature difference (ΔT) and the outdoor temperature to maintain a comfortable internal environment.
- Operation: When activated, the system detects the room temperature. Adjusting the control key sets the desired ΔT, and the fan operates at the selected speed until the target temperature is reached.
- Reset: Turning the Polar Control function on or off resets the displayed room temperature.
- Energy Saving: To conserve energy, it is recommended to set the Polar Control to the minimum ΔT (e.g., ΔT-1°C) once a comfortable room temperature is achieved.
- Cooling Capacity: The fan's cooling effectiveness depends on the difference between the outdoor and indoor temperatures.
Settings:
- Polar Control Off: Deactivates the automatic function.
- Cooling Levels: Settings range from Lowest cooling (e.g., ΔT-1°C) to Maximum cooling (e.g., ΔT-5°C), allowing users to select their preferred level of air circulation.
Care and Maintenance
Cleaning:
- Use only neutral, non-aggressive detergents for both internal and external cleaning.
- For the "Crystal" cover, use an acrylic glass cleaner with a soft cloth to avoid scratching.
