Vango Harris 350 Tent: Pitching and Packing Guide
This guide provides essential instructions for setting up and taking down the Vango Harris 350 family tent.
Pitching the Tent
Requirement: This tent should be erected by at least 2 people. ??
Step A: Initial Layout
Lay out the tent fabric on a clear, flat surface. Begin by inserting the poles into the designated sleeves of the tent fabric, ensuring correct orientation.
Step B: Pole Assembly and Insertion
Assemble the poles by connecting the sections. Insert the assembled poles into the corresponding grommets or clips on the tent fabric, using 2x4 poles and 3x8 poles.
Poles:
- Step i: Connect pole sections by pushing them together until secure.
- Step ii: Insert the pole ends into the designated grommets or pole sleeves.
Step C: Securing the Tent Structure
Attach the flysheet over the pole structure. Secure the tent to the ground using pegs at the base and guy lines, using approximately 5x2 pegs and 4x2 pegs. A detail shows pole ends being secured within fabric loops (labeled 6).
Step D: Full Erection and Pegging
Continue to peg out the tent and tension all guy lines to ensure stability, using quantities such as 6x16 guy lines/pegs, 8x10 guy lines/pegs, and 7x5 pegs.
Step E: Final Adjustments and TBS®II System
Make final adjustments to guy lines for optimal tension. The TBS®II (Tension Band System) provides enhanced stability. This step involves securing with approximately 9x2 pegs and 9x8 guy lines/pegs.
TBS®II System:
- Step i: Adjust the tension bands for increased stability in windy conditions.
- Step ii: Connect the TBS® bands to the poles.
- Step iii: Ensure the bands are taut.
Taking Down & Packing the Tent
Requirement: This tent should be taken down by at least 2 people. ??
Step A: Releasing Tension
Release tension on all guy lines and remove pegs from the ground, removing approximately 1x8 pegs.
Step B: Pole Removal
Carefully remove the poles from the tent sleeves and grommets, detaching approximately 2x16 poles and 3x10 poles.
Poles:
- Step i: Gently pull the poles out of the sleeves and grommets.
- Step ii: Disassemble the poles by separating the sections.
Step C: Folding the Tent Fabric
Fold the tent fabric inwards, bringing the sides together. This may involve securing points indicated by quantities like 9x4 and 8x8.
Step D: Rolling the Tent
Once folded, tightly roll the tent from one end to the other to create a compact shape, using attachments indicated by 7x4.
Step E: Packing into Carry Bag
Place the rolled tent into its designated carry bag, packing away items such as 5x2 pegs and 6x5 pegs.
Step F: Final Pack and Storage
Secure the carry bag, ensuring it is compact and ready for transport or storage.
