Introduction

This user manual applies to both the basic and premium packages of the PETKIT PURA MAX 2 Self-Cleaning Litter Box. Before using the product, please read these instructions carefully and keep them for future reference. Before installation and use, ensure all accessories are available.

2. Product Description

The PETKIT PURA MAX 2 is an advanced self-cleaning litter box designed for convenience and hygiene. Below are its main components and their functions:

Accessories and Functional Description

The standard litter filter is suitable for tofu litter and mixed litter; the magnetic honeycomb filter is suitable for mineral litter.

3. Product Installation

1. Prepare the Waste Bin: Slide the latch to the right and pull out the waste bin. Remove the lid of the waste bin and take out all accessories. The waste bin is a rectangular container that slides out from the main unit's side.

2. Install the Trash Bag: Insert the trash bag into the waste bin, ensuring the trash bag is attached to the bottom of the bin, then replace the lid. The trash bag must be attached to both sides of the lid, as indicated by small clips or hooks on the lid.

3. Insert the Odor Eliminator: Insert the N50 odor eliminator into the designated basket within the waste bin and press it firmly until it clicks into place. The N50 unit is a small, rectangular cartridge.

4. Reinsert the Waste Bin: Insert the waste bin back into the main unit and secure the latch by sliding it to the left until it locks. The bin slides into an opening on the side of the main unit.

5. Connect Power: Take out the power adapter, insert its connector into the power port located on the back of the main unit, and then plug the adapter into a power outlet. The power port is a circular socket.

4. How to Use the Product

Add Cat Litter

Note: Do not use large particle cat litter – particles longer than 1.2 cm or wider than 3 mm are not suitable.

1. Enter Maintenance Mode: After turning on the device, press the Menu button (☰) to switch to "Maintenance Mode". Then, press the OK button (Ⓞ) to start this mode. The cylinder inside the litter box will begin to rotate, positioning its opening upwards.

2. Pour Cat Litter: When the cylinder stops with the opening facing upwards, carefully pour the cat litter into the cylinder. After adding litter, press the OK button (Ⓞ) to exit "Maintenance Mode".

3. Level Cat Litter: Double-press the OK button (Ⓞ) and the device will automatically level the cat litter within the cylinder.

⚠️ Warning: The amount of cat litter must not exceed the marked MAX limit inside the cylinder.

Control Panel Description

The device's control panel features a Menu button (☰) and an OK button (Ⓞ).

• Menu Button (☰):
  • Short Press: Switches between functions, which are displayed on the OLED screen.
• OK Button (Ⓞ):
  • Long Press: Turns the device on or off.
  • Short Press: Selects the currently displayed function.

Function Description

✋ Maintenance Mode

Use this mode when adding cat litter or cleaning the device.

? Reset

Returns the cylinder to its initial position.

? Clean Now

Initiates an automatic cleaning cycle.

? Network Configuration

Connects the device to a Wi-Fi network (used during app pairing).

⚖️ Cat Litter Level

Levels the cat litter in the cylinder (use after adding cat litter).

? Deodorization

Activates the air purifier to deodorize. Requires installation of the PETKIT air purifier.

Displayed Status

Indicates the device's network connection status.

? Child Lock

Indicates if the child lock feature is active.

Smart App Control

1. Download the PETKIT App: Download the PETKIT app from the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play (for Android). Alternatively, scan the QR code provided in the manual to download the app.

2. Pair the Device: Open the PETKIT app. Click the "+" button to add "PETKIT PURA MAX 2" and follow the on-screen guide to pair the device. The app will guide you through the connection process.

To ensure the safety of your pet and proper use of this product, please read all instructions within the app after the first connection.

App Instructions and Features:

• Placement: Do not place objects within 10cm (approx. 4 inches) around the cat litter box. Ensure there are no obstructions near the sensors.
• Kitten Protection: When enabled, automatic or periodic cleaning will be disabled for the safety of kittens or pregnant cats.
• Automatic Cleaning: Toggle auto-cleaning on or off.
• Periodically Cleaning: Configure scheduled cleaning times.
• Familiar Cat Litter: If your cat is new to self-cleaning litter boxes, it's recommended to mix familiar-smelling litter to help them adapt.

The app's home screen allows you to check the toilet status, pet toilet times, waste bin status, and other information. It also provides reminders for replacing the odor eliminator and emptying the waste bin.

Description of Basic App Functions:

• Clean Now: Initiates an immediate cleaning cycle.
• Maintenance Mode: Rotates the cylinder to an upward-facing opening for convenient litter addition or device cleaning.
• Empty Litter: Empties remaining litter from the cylinder after installing the magnetic litter remover.
• Smart Settings: Configures cleaning and safety modes.
• Odor Removal: Activates the PETKIT SMART SPRAY air purifier to eliminate odors.
• Light On: Turns on an internal light to check the cylinder's status.

How to Use PETKIT SMART SPRAY Air Purifier:

To activate the air purifier, click "Binding Air Purifier" on the toilet's control panel or "Super Deodorizing" on the app's home screen. The air purifier will automatically spray after the cat leaves the toilet to keep the air fresh. You can also turn on the light in the app to check the internal state of the cylinder.

Important Notes for PETKIT SMART SPRAY:

• To avoid damage to the Pura Air Smart Spray or malfunction of the PURA MAX deodorant function, use only PETKIT special purifying liquid.
• To avoid excessive consumption of purifying liquid, it is recommended to turn on automatic deodorization or set the deodorization frequency according to your pet's toileting frequency for more effective deodorization.

Other Functions

1. Kitten Mode

Enable this mode if you have kittens or pregnant cats at home. When Kitten Mode is active, automatic and periodic cleaning functions are disabled to ensure safety. To clean the cat litter, you can manually click the "Clean now" button in the app.

2. Continuous Rotation

• When this function is ON, the device will not stop working even if it detects a cat approaching.
• When this function is OFF, the device will stop working if it detects a cat approaching. If the cylinder opening is facing downwards at that moment, there is a possibility of the cat and waste entering the lower part of the device, which makes cleaning difficult.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance

It is recommended to regularly clean and replace the following parts for optimal hygiene.

⚠️ Warning: Before cleaning, ensure the device is turned off. Avoid cleaning with alcohol, disinfectants, bleach, or other strong cleaning agents.

Cleaning Schedule and Method

⚠️ Warning for Main Unit: It is strictly forbidden to rinse and soak the main unit. It can only be wiped, otherwise, the device will be damaged.

5.1 Emptying Cat Litter Before Cleaning

1. Attach Litter Remover: Press the raised part in the middle of the litter remover and align its three grooves with the corresponding holes on the litter filter. Listen for a "click" sound, indicating successful installation. The litter remover is a tool that attaches to the filter.

2. Empty Litter via App: In the PETKIT app, click the "Empty litter" button and follow the instructions to empty the cat litter from the cylinder.

3. Remove Litter Remover: After use, press the raised part on the left side of the remover and pull it out.

5.2 Disassembly of Litter Filter and Litter Mat

1. Remove Side Cover: Rotate the side cover counter-clockwise to remove it from the main unit.

2. Remove Litter Filter: Press the center of the litter filter until it bends and separates from the left clip, then carefully remove it.

3. Remove Litter Mat: Squeeze the handle of the cat mat and pull it out from the cylinder.

5.3 Disassembly of Cylinder

1. Remove Magnetic Side Cover: Remove the magnetic side cover by lifting it upwards.

2. Unlock Clip: Locate and unlock the cylinder's securing clip.

3. Remove Cylinder: Lift the cylinder upwards to remove it from the base.

5.4 Clean All Parts

1. Clean Cylinder: Clean every corner of the cylinder with a brush and rinse it thoroughly with water.

2. Clean Filter and Mat: Scrub the litter filter with a brush and the litter mat with a damp cloth. Do not scrub hard to avoid damage. Avoid cleaning with cleaning agents such as alcohol, disinfectants, or bleach.

3. Clean Base and Sensor: Wipe the main unit's base with a damp paper towel to ensure the proximity sensor is clean.

5.5 Installation of All Parts

⚠️ Warning: Install all parts only when they are completely dry.

1. Install Cylinder: Place the cylinder onto the base, secure the clip, and check that the clip is properly attached.

2. Install Litter Mat: Hold the litter mat, insert its upper part into the groove, and then insert its lower part into the groove. Align the mat according to the arrows indicated on the mat and cylinder.

3. Secure Litter Mat: Release the mat, and both its sides will naturally slide into the groove in the cylinder. Before use, ensure the green edge of the mat is fully inserted into the groove and that the arrows at both ends are aligned with the indicated direction. If the green edge is not visible, the installation is successful.

4. Install Litter Filter (Side A): Insert one side of the filter into point A in the cylinder.

5. Secure Litter Filter: Grip the filter and press it until it bends and snaps into place.

6. Install Litter Filter (Side B): Insert the other side of the filter into point B in the cylinder.

7. Verify Filter Installation: Gently shake the filter back and forth. If it can be shaken, the installation is successful.

8. Install Side Covers: Install the side cover by rotating it clockwise, and then install the magnetic side cover.

• Do not immerse or soak the bottom part of the device in water. Handle it with care.

• Repairs should only be performed under professional guidance to avoid accidental damage.
• It is forbidden to place objects on top of the device or press on its top surface, as this may affect its normal operation.
