Verify the wall switch box has the necessary wires (power/black and neutral/white) for installation. Consult an electrician if these wires are not present.

Check the installation area above to ensure wiring and ductwork can be run and that the area is sufficient for proper ventilation.

Inspect duct work and wiring before proceeding.

All wiring must be connected for full functionality. The grille must be connected to the fan housing before powering the fan for the wall switch to pair correctly. Powering on before connecting the grille will interfere with pairing. Do not use a metal wall plate with the switch.

?ATTENTION: The included switch requires a neutral wire connection. If a neutral line is not present, a qualified electrician must run one. This switch is designed to operate only with this bath fan; connections to other electrical fixtures are prohibited and could cause electrical issues. Call 1-877-319-3757 for assistance before installing the switch.

Wiring Diagram Description: The diagram shows connections between the fan (motor, neutral/white wire), the switch (red wire, black wire), and the house wiring (black/house wire, white/house neutral wire, green/ground wire). It indicates AC 120V/60Hz power.

Installation Instructions

Before Installation:

⚠️WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Ensure power is shut off. Remove fuse or turn off circuit breaker.

  1. Remove existing fan. If not replacing an existing fan, skip to step 7.
  2. Measure the opening to ensure it is large enough for the new fan housing (A), which is 9 in. x 9 in.
  3. If cutting a new opening, ensure it is 9-1/4 in. x 9-1/4 in. for the fan housing (A).
  4. Bend the tabs (4.1) on the sides of the fan housing (A) down 90° using a screwdriver.
  5. The tabs (5.1) help hold the fan housing (A) in place in the ceiling opening while installing suspension brackets.
  6. Insert suspension bracket (C) into the rails on the fan housing (A) near the duct opening. Insert bracket (D) into the rails on the opposite side of housing (A), then slide bracket (E) into bracket (D).
  7. Insert the fan housing (A) into the ceiling opening.
  8. Position the fan housing (A) so its bottom edge is flush with the ceiling board. Do not mount flush to the joist. Attach the ends of suspension brackets (C, D, E) to the ceiling joists using wood screws (AA).
  9. Secure the suspension brackets (C, D, E) to the fan housing (A) using machine screws (BB).
  10. Slide the duct connector (F) into the tabs on the fan housing (A) until it snaps firmly into place. Remove protective tape from the duct adapter flap.
  11. Install the wall switch (G) according to the wiring diagram on page 5. Remove the wiring box cover from housing (A). Pull house wires through the cover. Use quick connectors to connect house wiring to the wall switch (G) and fan housing (A). Use 14 AWG wire for branch circuits. Push connections into the wiring box and reattach the cover.
  12. Connect a 4 in. circular duct to the fan housing (A), securing it with duct tape or a clamp. Vent the duct to the outside.
  13. Join the connectors from the fan housing (A) to the grille (B). IMPORTANT: The grille (B) must be connected BEFORE turning on power.
  14. Attach the grille (B) by pinching the mounting springs and inserting them into the narrow rectangular slots in the fan housing (A).

Restore power by turning on the circuit breaker or re-inserting the fuse. Turn on the fan and test the unit.
