Safety Information
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, always follow these precautions:
- Always disconnect power at the service panel before servicing the fan, motor, or junction box.
- Follow all local building, safety, and electrical codes, including NEC and OSHA standards.
- Ensure the electric service supply is 120 volts, 60 hertz.
- This product must be properly connected to the grounding conductor of the supply circuit.
- Do not bend or kink power wires.
- Do not use this fan with any solid-state control device (e.g., remote control, dimmer switch), but mechanical timers are acceptable.
- Do not install in ceilings with insulation greater than R40.
- Duct work should be installed in a straight line with minimal bends and should not be reduced in size.
- This product is intended for use with flexible conduit only, not rigid metal conduit.
- For general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors.
- Not for use in kitchens.
- Install the fan at least 7 feet (2.1m) above the floor to reduce the risk of injury.
- Vent exhaust air to the outdoors. Do not vent into walls, ceilings, attics, crawl spaces, or garages.
- If installed over a tub or shower, it must be marked as appropriate and connected to a GFCI-protected branch circuit.
- Install at least 3.28 ft. (1 m) from the showerhead when installing over a bathtub or shower. Installation within a shower stall is not recommended unless this distance can be met.
CAUTION: Ensure power is OFF before installation. If the unit does not power up, consult the troubleshooting section.
Preparation
Before assembly, verify all parts are present by comparing them with the package contents list and hardware. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt assembly. Contact customer service for replacement parts.
Tools Required (not included): Hammer, Flathead Screwdriver, Wire Connectors, Nails, Duct Tape, Phillips Head Screwdriver, Utility Knife or Drywall Saw.
Helpful Tools (not included): Electric Drill, Drill Bits.
Wiring: Ensure the wall switch box has the required wires (black power, white neutral). If not, consult a licensed electrician. Check the installation area for adequate space for wiring and ductwork. Provide access for future maintenance.

Wiring Diagram Notes:
- All wiring must be connected for full functionality.
- The grille must be connected to the fan housing before power is supplied for the LED Touchpad Wall Switch to pair correctly.
- Do not use a metal wall plate with the switch.
- The included switch requires a dedicated neutral wire connection. If a neutral line is not present, a qualified electrician must run one.
- This switch is intended to operate only with this bath fan. Connections to other electrical fixtures are prohibited.
Installation Instructions
- Remove existing fan: If not replacing an existing fan, skip to step 4 or 7.
- Measure opening: Ensure the opening is large enough for the 9 in. x 9 in. fan housing (A).
- Cut opening (if new installation): Cut a 9-1/4 in. x 9-1/4 in. opening for the fan housing (A).
- Position fan housing (for joist spacing < 21-1/4 in.): Place fan housing (A) next to a ceiling joist, ensuring it is level and perpendicular. Position so the bottom edge is flush with the ceiling board. Do not flush mount to the joist.
- Secure fan housing (for joist spacing < 21-1/4 in.): Insert suspension bracket (C) into tabs on fan housing (A). Mount housing to joist using wood screws (AA) in indicated holes. Tighten screws until secure.
- Attach suspension brackets (for joist spacing < 21-1/4 in.): Attach the end of each suspension bracket (C) to the ceiling joist using wood screws (AA). Skip to step 10.
- Install suspension brackets (for joist spacing 21-1/4 in. to 23-1/2 in.): Insert suspension brackets (C) into fan housing (A) tabs. Slide suspension brackets (D) into (C). Repeat on the opposite side.
- Position fan housing (for joist spacing 21-1/4 in. to 23-1/2 in.): Position housing (A) so bottom edge is flush with ceiling board. Do not flush mount to joist.
- Secure suspension brackets (for joist spacing 21-1/4 in. to 23-1/2 in.): Attach ends of suspension brackets (C, D) to ceiling joists using wood screws (AA).
- Secure brackets to housing: Secure suspension brackets (C, D) to fan housing (A) using machine screws (BB).
- Wire the fan: Remove the wiring box cover from the fan housing (A). Pull house wires through the cover. Use quick connectors to connect house wiring to the LED wall switch (E) and fan housing (A). 14 AWG is the minimum conductor size. Refer to the wiring diagram on page 5. Push connections into the box and reattach the cover. NOTE: Do not use a metal wall plate with the switch. CAUTION: The switch requires a neutral wire connection. Consult an electrician if one is not present. This switch is for this fan only.
- Connect ductwork: Connect a 4 in. circular duct to the fan housing (A), securing with duct tape or a clamp. Vent the duct to the outside.
- Connect Grille: Connect the Bluetooth speaker and LED light connectors from the fan housing (A) to the grille (B). The grille (B) must be connected BEFORE turning on power.
- Attach Grille: Pinch mounting springs on grille (B) and insert into narrow rectangular slots in fan housing (A).
- Restore Power and Test: Restore power at the circuit breaker or fuse. Turn on the fan and test the unit.
LED Wall Switch Operation
The LED touchpad wall switch controls the fan functions:
- Fan: Press to turn ON/OFF.
- LED Light: Press to turn ON/OFF.
- Dimmer: Press multiple times to adjust brightness.
- Night Light: Press to turn ON/OFF.
- Bluetooth® Speaker: Press to turn ON/OFF. Adjust volume on your Bluetooth device.
- Main Power Switch: Press to turn ON/OFF.
Note: The icon illuminates when the function is active.
Connecting Your Bluetooth® Device to the Speaker
- You need a wireless Bluetooth® device to play music files.
- Set your device to a midrange volume before connecting.
- Follow your Bluetooth® device's instructions to make it discoverable or search for accessories. You may need to enter a passkey or PIN.
- From your device's Home screen, go to Settings > Bluetooth® to search for the speaker.
- Note: Your device can maintain multiple pairing records but can only connect to one accessory at a time.
- Select the Homewerks™ speaker and enter the passkey or PIN (0000) if prompted.
- Once paired, use the Bluetooth® speaker to play audio from your device.
- Optimal volume setting for the Bluetooth® speaker is 70% or lower. Higher settings may cause sound distortion.
Care and Cleaning
CAUTION: Disconnect power before cleaning.
- Consult safety information before proceeding. Perform routine maintenance at least once a year.
- Never use solvents, thinners, or harsh chemicals.
- Do not allow water to enter the motor.
- Do not immerse metal parts in water.
- Do not immerse plastic parts in water over 140°F (60°C).
- Do not immerse the Bluetooth® speaker in water.
Cleaning Steps:
- Remove grille (B) by squeezing mounting springs and pulling down. Disconnect connectors. Wipe grille with a damp cloth.
- Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and dirt from the fan housing (A).
- Wipe the fan housing (A) with a damp cloth and dry.
- Reconnect the Bluetooth® speaker and LED light connectors to the grille (B). Attach grille (B) by pinching mounting springs and inserting into slots in the fan housing (A).
- Restore power and test the unit.
Troubleshooting

Warranty Information
Fan - Limited 3-Year Warranty: Homewerks warrants this fan against defects in materials or workmanship for three years from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover abuse, alteration, damage, misuse, cutting, or wear. It also does not cover use in commercial applications. Use only genuine Homewerks replacement parts; using non-genuine parts voids the warranty. Homewerks disclaims all other implied or express warranties. This warranty provides specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.
Bluetooth® Speaker - Limited 1-Year Warranty: Homewerks warrants the Bluetooth® speaker against defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty has the same exclusions as the fan warranty regarding abuse, alteration, damage, misuse, cutting, wear, and commercial use. Use of non-genuine parts voids the warranty.
