Keycap Replacement
Using the keycap extraction tool:
- Line up diagonally with the key you want to replace.
- Gently pull while holding down the clips.
Switch Installation
Compatible switches: Low-Profile 3 PIN Only.
Before installation:
- Check that all the switch metallic pins are perfectly straight and clean.
Installation steps:
- Insert the mechanical switch into the specific location. Ensure its position is similar to the illustration: the logo facing the bottom of the keyboard and the recessed area for LED illumination facing the top of the keyboard.
- Press the switch down until you hear a click, indicating the switch clips have attached to the keyboard plate.
- Inspect the switch to ensure it's properly attached and test it.
Switch Removal
Using the Switch Removal Tool:
- Align the gripping teeth vertically (on the X-Axis) at the center of the switch.
- Grab the switch and apply pressure until it releases from the plate.
- Using firm but gentle force, pull the switch away from the keyboard using a vertical motion.
Important Warnings
Compatibility Warning: The AQIRYS AGENA mechanical keyboard with Gateron low-profile switches is NOT compatible with any standard MX-style mechanical switches.
Installation Caution: If a mechanical switch does not work, a pin may have been bent during installation. Carefully remove the switch and attempt to straighten the bent pin. Incorrect installation can lead to irreparable damage to the pins, requiring complete replacement of the switch, which is not covered by the product warranty.
