Thank you for purchasing Edifier R1280DB multimedia speakers. Please read this manual carefully before operating this system.
The lightning flash with arrowhead inside the triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of an insulated dangerous voltage within the product's enclosure. The user is also subject to the following conditions: - The air conditioning system is in the presence of a sufficient magnitude to provide a risk of electric shock to persons. - To prevent the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). No user service is available.
Speaker Controls
The speaker system features controls on the side panel and a remote control for operation.
Side Panel Controls:
- 1. Infrared receiver: Receives signals from the remote control.
- 2. Treble dial: Adjusts the treble frequencies.
- 3. Bass dial: Adjusts the bass frequencies.
- 4. Master volume control/input selection: Rotate to adjust volume. Press in to navigate between audio sources: LINE 1 -> LINE 2 -> Optical -> Coaxial -> Bluetooth. Press and hold to enter standby mode.
- 5. Power indicator: Displays the current input source: Red for optical/coaxial, Blue for Bluetooth, Green for Line in 1/Line in 2.
- 6. Speaker output: Connects to the passive speaker.
- 7. Power switch: Turns the unit on or off.
- 8. Power cord: Connects to the power outlet.
- 9. Line in 1 input port: For connecting audio sources via Line 1.
- 10. Line in 2 input port: For connecting audio sources via Line 2.
- 11. Optical input port: For connecting audio sources via optical cable.
- 12. Coaxial input port: For connecting audio sources via coaxial cable.
Remote Control Functions:
- 1. Power ON/OFF: Turns the system on or off.
- 2. Mute: Mutes/unmutes the audio output.
- 3. Volume decrease: Decreases the volume.
- 4. Volume increase: Increases the volume.
- 5. Line in 1 input: Selects Line In 1 as the audio source.
- 6. Line in 2 input: Selects Line In 2 as the audio source.
- 7. Optical input: Selects Optical input as the audio source.
- 8. Coaxial input: Selects Coaxial input as the audio source.
- 9. Bluetooth input: Selects Bluetooth as the audio source. Press and hold to disconnect Bluetooth devices.
- 10. Pause/play: Pauses or resumes playback for Bluetooth audio.
- 11. Previous track: Skips to the previous track for Bluetooth audio.
- 12. Next track: Skips to the next track for Bluetooth audio.
Remote Control Battery Loading:
Open the battery compartment, insert one CR2025 battery with the correct polarity (+/-), and close the compartment.
Note:
- Do not place the remote control in hot or humid environments.
- Do not attempt to charge the batteries.
- Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period.
- Avoid exposing the battery to excessive heat.
- Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced incorrectly. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
Connection and Setup
- Connect the two speakers using the included speaker connecting cable.
- Connect the power cord to the speaker and a power outlet. Turn on the power switch. The power indicator will light up.
- To use Line In: Press the master volume control on the active speaker or the "LINE 1/LINE 2" button on the remote control to select LINE IN input. The indicator will turn green. Connect your audio source to the appropriate Line In port (Line 1 or Line 2) using an audio cable.
- Play audio from your device and adjust the volume as needed.
- To use Optical/Coaxial Input: Press the master volume control or the "OPT/COX" button on the remote control to select optical/coaxial input. The indicator will turn red. Connect your audio source using an optical or coaxial cable (optical cable included).
- Play audio from your device and adjust the volume.
- Note: In optical and coaxial modes, only PCM signal with 44.1KHz/48KHz can be decoded.
Bluetooth Pairing
- Turn on the speakers and select Bluetooth mode by pressing the Bluetooth button on the remote or the master volume control on the active speaker. The indicator will turn blue.
- On your source device (mobile phone, tablet, etc.), go to the Bluetooth settings and search for nearby devices.
- Select "EDIFIER R1280DB" from the list and pair your device.
- Play audio tracks from your device and adjust the volume.
- To disconnect Bluetooth, press and hold the master volume control for approximately 2 seconds.
Notes:
- Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility may vary depending on the source device and its software version.
- Ensure your mobile device supports A2DP and AVRCP profiles for full Bluetooth functionality.
- If prompted, the PIN code for connection is "0000".
