Thank you for purchasing Edifier R1280DB multimedia speakers. Please read this manual carefully before operating this system.

The lightning flash with arrowhead inside the triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of an insulated dangerous voltage within the product's enclosure. The user is also subject to the following conditions: - The air conditioning system is in the presence of a sufficient magnitude to provide a risk of electric shock to persons. - To prevent the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). No user service is available.

Speaker Controls

The speaker system features controls on the side panel and a remote control for operation.

Remote Control Battery Loading:

Open the battery compartment, insert one CR2025 battery with the correct polarity (+/-), and close the compartment.

Note:

Connection and Setup

  1. Connect the two speakers using the included speaker connecting cable.
  2. Connect the power cord to the speaker and a power outlet. Turn on the power switch. The power indicator will light up.
  3. To use Line In: Press the master volume control on the active speaker or the "LINE 1/LINE 2" button on the remote control to select LINE IN input. The indicator will turn green. Connect your audio source to the appropriate Line In port (Line 1 or Line 2) using an audio cable.
  4. Play audio from your device and adjust the volume as needed.
  5. To use Optical/Coaxial Input: Press the master volume control or the "OPT/COX" button on the remote control to select optical/coaxial input. The indicator will turn red. Connect your audio source using an optical or coaxial cable (optical cable included).
  6. Play audio from your device and adjust the volume.
  7. Note: In optical and coaxial modes, only PCM signal with 44.1KHz/48KHz can be decoded.

Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Turn on the speakers and select Bluetooth mode by pressing the Bluetooth button on the remote or the master volume control on the active speaker. The indicator will turn blue.
  2. On your source device (mobile phone, tablet, etc.), go to the Bluetooth settings and search for nearby devices.
  3. Select "EDIFIER R1280DB" from the list and pair your device.
  4. Play audio tracks from your device and adjust the volume.
  5. To disconnect Bluetooth, press and hold the master volume control for approximately 2 seconds.

Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
No sound
  • Check if the power indicator light is ON.
  • Increase the volume using the master volume control or remote.
  • Ensure audio cables are securely connected and the correct input is selected.
  • Verify that the audio source is outputting a signal.
Cannot connect via Bluetooth
  • Ensure the speaker is in Bluetooth mode. Bluetooth cannot be paired or connected in other input modes.
  • Disconnect from any existing Bluetooth device by pressing and holding the volume dial in Bluetooth mode, then try again.
  • Ensure you are within the effective Bluetooth transmission range (10 meters).
  • Try connecting with a different Bluetooth device.
The R1280DB does not turn on
  • Check if the power cord is securely connected to the speaker and the wall outlet.
  • Ensure the wall outlet is switched on and functioning.
